Best Western Plus Lawnfield Inn Suites

Do not stay at this hotel!!! We booked 2 nights for our stay. When we arrived everything looked ok, and the first night was fine. The next morning we got up and proceeded to take showers. I noticed that the handle on the shower seemed a bit difficult to navigate but because I am 67 years old and have moderately severe arthritis in both of my hands I assumed it was because of me (I cannot even open bottles with caps). I did however get it to work, and asked my husband if he had experienced the same thing and he said yes but he also got it to work. We went about our day and returned that second evening after a very hot day at a ball game in Cleveland. We proceeded to take showers once again that evening only this time, the handle on the shower came off in my hand, which led me to believe it was defective all along. We then asked the front desk for another room so we could shower but they were booked up. They attempted to call a maintenance person to come back to look at it. About 45 minutes later he shows up, and tells us he can't fix it for us for that evening and even if he could, they would need to shut the water to our room off for 12 hours to do it. By this time we were fed up and told front desk person named Matt that we requested they find us another room at a nearby hotel so we would have a working shower/bath. He called the manager Andy on the phone who proceeded to consistently push back and say there was "nothing" that he could do and refused to help us saying "no we cannot find you another room elsewhere at another hotel", and we didn't receive even as much as a "sorry" about our situation. I told him they had lousy customer service and could not believe this He just kept refusing to help us. The cake on the icing was when he accused us of breaking it on purpose and asked that if we had difficulty that morning why we hadn't reported it. I told him because we were able to get it to work that morning and just figured it was the design of the handle, we did NOT know it was totally defective until it broke that evening! Since we had made reservations through AAA for this hotel, I called them to file a complaint right in front of the desk attendant, and then and only then did they call another hotel in that area and promised to refund us for that 2nd night. What a nightmare getting them to at least offer that. We are now 2 weeks later and have not received a refund! AAA followed up with them yesterday and informed us that the hotel had said they will NOT REFUND us because "their policy says we needed to tell them the problem upon our arrival, even though we did not know anything about the shower head until the next day! The manager Andy LIED to get us to leave!!! They are scam artists and are NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!

Every aspect of our stay exceeded my expectations. Nice comfortable lobby, friendly and knowledgeable reception staff, clean comfortable spacious room, delicious breakfast and was able to walk to the James Garfield Historic site. Slept great! Highly recommend

My wife and I stayed here with our cat on our cross country move to the east coast and we really enjoyed our stay here. There is ample parking for this very quaint property and check in was very easy. We were greeted by a nice man who explained the amenities of the property and given a first floor room. The pet fee at this hotel is a very fair $30 fee, which is why we picked this hotel in particular. The room has modern-ish amenities, although there is definitely some charm of older hotel properties. The room was very clean and the shower was hot. There’s a small TV in the room and a sitting area with a Kuerig coffee maker. There’s a workout room and breakfast area in the lower level. There’s breakfast in the morning was unremarkable. It was hot and it was free, but nothing noteworthy. What was nice about the breakfast was the super friendly breakfast host wholesome cleared our table and constantly was checking on the guests. He really was warm and welcoming. The hotel is conveniently located about 5 minutes from the James Garfield National Park site and in a safe area. One thing to note is the hotel restaurant, Skye, is still CLOSED. So we had an amazing dinner at Nonna’s Italian restaurant about 5 minutes from the hotel. Overall, a perfect stay. We’d highly recommend it, although it is a little pricey.
