Extended Stay America Select Suites - Cleveland - Mentor

Never have I stayed at any hotel and suites where the front desk is actually closed and if for some reason ( example; 4 people staying in a room and only 2 towels are in the room so we need more, ironing board and iron which is usually in the room, can't ask for it because the front desk is still closed,no blow dryer which any hotel would have, can't ask again because the front desk is closed). An alarm was going off in the small lobby area but nobody there to shut it off. No breakfast, no problem, wouldn't want to eat anything anyways from this place. Read the housekeeping services; I only hope that it means if you plan to stay longer than a few nights, can't believe you would charge a fee.

Advertised room w/fully equipped kitchen. This was not the case. A small white cutting board & a microwave were the only items available. No coffee pot, dishes etc. No Do Not Disturb sign so you can sleep in. Called front desk no answer til 7:15am to request a coffee maker, was told they just answer the phone but had no access to room needs as coffee maker etc we’re all locked up til 9:00am. No manager on site to resolve any issues. My question to this employee was “So I have to wait til 9:00 to have a cup of coffee”. This is unacceptable by any means. I’m an early riser wanting a cup of coffee in the room and wasn’t aware you have to request a coffee maker in a supposedly “fully equipped kitchen room“. Needless to say, I’m disappointed and this is new to me, that a hotel room doesn’t even offer something this standard or basic. The fact I now have to get dressed, leave out before I was normally ready to leave and search for a place this early to purchase a cup of coffee. How inconvenient and insensitive.

cancelled my reservation while I was traveling to the hotel (minutes away) no lobby person to assist with this problem. never again would I consider this chain. can' tell what the place was like because I never got that far

This is a clean place, no lobby really. We had doubts, when we went inside, there was no one at the front desk and a sign that said no hot water. Once the front desk person arrived he said the hot water was fixed. And it was. The hotel doesn't have any carpeting, so is kind of loud when people (or dogs- dog friendly hotel) walk around. Relatively cheap too. By far, the cheapest hotel on the weekend we were there, but bare bones, no breakfast, no pool, no front lobby.

Worst place ever! DO NOT stay here. It’s filthy and the beds are horrible! I tried to book at a nice place… It was full so they booked me at there “sister hotel”… If this is the sister hotel I hate to see what the rest of the family looks like! I got ripped off! This whole trip I’ve stayed at some really nice places and this was the most expensive out of all of them and absolutely the worst experience! Hotel hell!!!!

beds are nothing more than a gross mattress thrown on a cheap tube frame. fairly clean but really old looking hotel inside. Super depressing. Noisy, smells like ****, no staff available, and at 2 am a fire alarm goes off, and we have to evacuate. Police and fire show up several times a week according to the 911 dispatcher I called. I grew up in Mentor and came back for a visit and did not feel safe there. I felt like I was in a horror movie.
