Dimora Siqu

I’m usually short on praise when it comes to my travel experiences, but our stay with Giuseppa was so unique and memorable that it is my pleasure to share a review. First, Giuseppa is one of those rare hoteliers that truly wants you to have an outstanding experience. In my initial conversations via email after booking, I described how I was visiting Menfi as my great-grandfather emigrated from the town. Before I arrived at the hotel, she made attempts to do a little research of his name and ask some people in town if the name was familiar. I also provided the name of the street that my relative noted on a ship manifest, and upon arrival, Giuseppa outlined on a map the area we needed to visit. Then she took us in her car and drove us to the street. On the day of departure, we had time before our transfer, and rather than have us wait in the courtyard, she took us for a walking tour of some of Menfi’s highlights. Because the archives in Menfi were closed for renovations, she could not research but provided me with contact information for someone who could help when the records did become accessible. Giuseppa is a gem. Second, Giuseppa’s husband and two children are architects, and once you see your room, you will be amazed at the thought and skill that went into creating this marvelous b & b. It is both charming and striking. Even if your plans don’t include Menfi, it is worth an overnight stay just to meet Giuseppa and stay in her wonderful place.

This is an ideal location to stay while exploring the region. Dimora SIQU is a lovely typical Sicilian villa that has been very nicely restored. We stayed in the Solerata room - an elegant, spacious room with a huge comfortable bed. The room is tastefully decorated. Giusi was a friendly host who made fresh cake for us! While we were there, Dimora SIQU hosted two intriguing art events. All in all, a nice place to stay.

Beautiful building, gently renovated so that the character of the historic building was preserved. The hotel is on several floors, it has many common areas such as a roof terrace and a beautiful courtyard. The staff was extremely helpful. We would stay there again anytime.

The hosts were exceptionally helpful. They did everything they could to help us enjoy our stay. We had a great cookery lesson with them and they helped book restaurants and provided great recommendations. The property is tastefully renovated and really comfortable, close to the town centre. Good parking available on the street outside. Good breakfast buffet. Would not hesitate to recommend.
