The hygiene of the room is very average, the bathtub looks dirty, there are many stains on the carpet in the room, there is a strange smell from the corridor to the room; there are also huge spiders in the room;
The room soundproofing is very poor, the whole house has about three floors, the first floor is a bar, open until the evening, very noisy, because of the poor soundproofing, before twelve o'clock, you can hear the laughter of drunk women and the sound of car engines in the yard outside, the voices of talking and the crying of children in the next room can also be heard, and there are regular knocking sounds before twelve o'clock;
The coffee pot for breakfast is dusty, and the breakfast is very average.
It cannot reach the indicated four-star level, or even the level of three stars.

This was the worst hotel experience I have had. Mostly because my room 109 was unbearably hot when I arrived Sunday evening and would not cool down. It is over the kitchen which heats it up, the window offers poor ventilation, and is also offer the kitchen which extends out under a flat roof, the kitchen extract fan duct is close by. When this shuts off just after 8.00pm the noise is taken over by the fans for the coolers for the Waitrose across the car park. This was mentioned to Will the manager on arrival and he offered me room 101 as an alternative, this still looked out over the flat roof and was smaller, and being tired after a long journey I stayed with room 109. Even with a room fan and not using the duvet I had no decent sleep over two nights, and very nearly did not return for the second, I wanted I lay in on my last morning but to pass the time was reading from 5.30 and in the shower by 6.15. Ummm the shower could not hold a temperature and rotated from hot to cold. More misery. The room is small with the double bed against a wall one side, this should not be let as a double but a good single. My meal on Sunday evening was over cooked, pie and chips with a meagre portion of mushy peas. The breakfast buffet is small and the hot breakfast menu limited, with bland packet scrambled eggs, breakfast portions are generous and the eggs Royal OK. I was told a £750,000 refurbishment is planned for the Hotel soon, it wont be too soon, outside it is shabby. it must include sound proofed windows and air-conditioning to room 109 and probably others to keep them lettable. There are probably some good rooms here but not at the back. My overriding lasting feeling is of being ripped off. It was £142 a night for B&B. To me the owners marketing throughout is cynical and the presentation superficial, for instance individual room names in a hotel like this simply snobbery. They urgently need to concentrate more on the visitor experience, substance, and less on the gloss. Very very disappointing.

As a local person who has eaten at this hotel on many occasions over the years, be very aware that now the hotel have a parking app which I was unaware of and consequently received £100 parking fine. I was not asked or informed by any member of staff that this is how their car park now operated my advice would be to avoid this hotel sadly.

We had a great stay. All staff members were friendly, our room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfy. I did find the pillows to be a bit hard, as I prefer softer pillows. It was also very hot when we stayed, but there was a fan provided in the room, which helped to cool us down! My sleep quality was not great due to the heat, but had nothing to do with the hotel itself. I would stay here again. The free breakfast and parking was also very convenient.

We chose to stay here because of the location, we wanted to stay on the island but as we planned to stay a couple of nights we didn't want to be restricted to eating in the hotel both nights. This hotel is within easy walking distance of a number of varied eating places so was ideal. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. On the first night we did eat in the hotel and had a lovely meal, although the Waitress got a bit confused at times everything was good. Breakfast was good but they managed to get our orders wrong every time. I suspect that is due to using electronic pad for ordering which doesn't tend to be flexible enough for variations from the menu. However quality was good and service was friendly. We also discovered a nice walk from the hotel with great views of the Menai Straights. I hope we can stay here again
