Spirit Lake Resort Motel

The motel setting is a bit like going back in time- in a good way. It isn’t fancy - but it offered the retreat we were looking for. We had 6 rooms hosting a family reunion that included 13 grand kids aged 4 to 17. It was amazing! The sand beach, canoeing and paddle boards and fishing off the dock left all ages happy. Cozy sauna and lake shore fire pit helped create the ultimate old fashioned lake retreat experience. Rooms were simple and clean. Adaptable sleeping options with futons to expand where we put kiddos. Such a safe and fun environment and the Scoopals Ice cream parlor was the icing on the cake! Adults could enjoy their time while kids had the adventurous weekend of cousins and experience an old fashioned Minnesota summer. Shannon, the manager, was kind, accommodating, and extremely helpful. The mothers said they could relax and know the kids were safe, while feeling like they were having a “grand adventure!”

The mattress had a hole on the right side. Didn’t sleep well first night, asked for a different room, was told they were full, showed the mattress, said she would get a different mattress which she did. The fridge had dirt in it, wiped it out. Swept the floors, got a good pile of dirt. Hand wiped the bedroom and bathroom floors with wet paper towels that I brought. They were black when I was done. The toilet had feces stuck on the outside bowl. This room was not clean. The futons have pet hair on them, the bathroom smells like urine. I will not stay here again. It was really bad and smelled bad.

This motel is super clean and inviting. It is a bit old=fashioned but it don't matter. It is run by a younger couple. We stayed in the winter when the ice was on the lake but cannot wait until summer to relax by the water.

Great views. Gracious host. Simple rooms, but clean and small touches shows owner cares.

Menahga Stay Tidy, small motel style. Older buidling but well kept. Very quiet area. Enjoyed my stay and will return.

Nice motel Nice motel. Soap was out in the shower and the coffee maker didn't work. Otherwise, great value for the money. I'd stay again.
