So much Fun

Disappointing across the board. ＞ Check in person completely uninterested in helping us get two rooms even on the same floor.. doesn't even check just says no. This when checking in at 4pm with a multi-floor hotel. ＞ Asked where carts are, the kid at the desk can't even look or talk, just waves his hand in some random motion. Second request, finally speaks and answer is "I don't know" ＞ Room out of soap, go downstairs and ask front desk for soap, answer is I'll have some soap brought up tomorrow. Uhh ... hello I need soap tonight, not tomorrow. Have to get some from second room. ＞ Parking horrible. Handicap spots all full . Ones WAY in back, the door right there in back is permanent locked, even with key. SAVE THE DRAMA... go somewhere that cares about your business, who has time for miserable Employees..

Because of traffic coming from our destination, we arrived later than expected and checked in around 1:30 a.m. The gentleman at the front desk said my reservation had been "cancelled by the system," which I thought was odd; I'm a HHonors member and made the reservation using a non-refundable member prepay rate. That's something I do 90% of the time unless my dates might change. Not once has my room been cancelled, and I arrive late nearly every time I travel if I'm driving. No worries, he said; he'd just run my card again. I was more exhausted than skeptical at that point, so I forked over the card just so I could get to a bed. Upon entering the room, I detected the competing scents of mildew and industrial cleaner. Even my husband, who can't smell anything, agreed. The air felt damp, but the AC wasn't on, so I figured that might explain the humidity in the room. Walking to the living area unit, my husband noticed how filthy the couch was. Again, it was now 2 a.m. and I just wanted to get to sleep. I said we'd take care of it the next day, and as long as the bed wasn't gross, we just needed to crash. Nothing seemed amiss in the bed (clean sheets, not unusually uncomfortable), and as a native Memphian familiar with how old the property is, I expected dated decor. I did not, however, expect black mold on the bathroom ceiling (nice try with the Kilz) and a bathtub that wouldn't properly drain. Gross. I should have asked to be moved, but the lot was full the next morning, and I knew we'd literally only be there to sleep for the duration of our trip. We were in town for Mother's Day and to celebrate my daughter's graduation from UofM. This was the least expensive property within city limits that was in a safe enough area and close to what we needed to do. The AC worked well and wasn't unreasonably loud, but by the time we checked out, I was so disgusted by the constant damp feeling in the room and the film in the bathtub that I didn't even bother showering until after the 10-hour trip home. The worst part of all this is that the credit card showed we were charged twice for the room. We called Hilton and explained what we were told at check-in. The representative I talked to said this is the policy of neither the property nor the company, and that the system showed no one had ever cancelled my reservation. I have no idea what happened, but we're still waiting for the charge to be reversed. I have learned my lesson: beware of prepaying your reservation if Hilton allows this to happen, and spend more for a room if you don't want to feel like you're spending the weekend in a cold sauna. Honorable mention: the cracked, stained ice bucket neatly stored atop the refrigerator. Also, we didn't smell **** in the halls unlike our stay at the nearby Hilton Memphis, so that was nice.

Never again will I stay here!!!!! After traveling for 15 hours we were exhausted. We got to our room and I got in the shower and in the room next door was a screaming kid and the adults were talking way too loud. Then we get woke up at 5:30 am central time because of people talking so loud. I will not come back to this total again. I don’t care how nice the hotel is or if the breakfast is good or not. I CAN NOT STAND RUDE PEOPLE!!
