The experience at the Memphis, Holiday In Express (Graceland) was very poor. The first issue was the elevator was out and I had to utilize the stairs the entire time of my stay. We were notified via text but I received the message when I arrived to Memphis and although there was an offer to cancel my stay for free, I was staying at this particular location because of a Family Reunion and all of my family was staying there, not to mention getting a hotel room at the last minute did prove to be costly. There was also no AC on the first floor and within the first floor hallways and stairwells, it was very hot walking up and down the stairwell to my room. On Friday and Saturday night there was no AC in the conference room and its as very hot during the family reunion activities. We had elderly and disabled family members who were suffering due to the condition of the conference room. We were provided fans but they only circulated the hot air and not all areas of the room could even feel the air from the fans. There was also a smell within the hallway floors of mildew and mothballs and the scent was very strong and unpleasant. With all of these issues, the staff were not pleasant to deal with, they had attitudes and made it seem like we were being a bother when I made complaints about the aforementioned issues. There was one particular staff member (shift supervisor), who was wearing a bluetooth ear piece and was having personal conversations while assisting me, it didn't feel like I had her full attention or that she cared about the issues that I was trying to address with her. I have never dealt with an entire staff team that was unprofessional and overall gave a poor customer service experience.
