Awful hotel. Room was so dirty and smelly it set off my asthma and my nose was streaming. Shower was completely cold. The room was neglected and clearly not looked after, with peeling wallpaper, cobwebs, awful decorating. It was so bad I left after 20 minutes at around 10.30pm and booked in somewhere nearby. Went there for a refund the following morning, no one could help me, one man wandered over and sniggered at me, saying it's not possible, walked off shortly after. Staff wouldn't let me finish a sentence, implied I wasn't telling the truth, and insisted it's a nice room - refused to refund me or even cancel the next night despite me having left. It was the worst hotel experience I've had.

There were multiple issues with the room, including no access to soap, no working kettle, broken lights and the blind not closing fully. On arrival, the receptionist could not sort any issues (including providing soap) or move me to another room, as owners were not available and they did not “want to get in trouble”. Restaurant closed both days and breakfast despite times being advertised on their website, refused to accommodate the first hour or so. Colleague had a pleasant room, so they clearly do have nice ones, but I would never risk booking here again.

The rooms are well appointed, with a comfortable bed and plenty of wardrobe and storage space, but, the rooms were cold when we got there and did not heat up at all. No thermostat or instructions on the heating. The curtains were thin and useless in the morning. The bathroom needed modernising and the shower was a waste of space. The food offered was over priced. Plenty of places to eat in the town that are allot cheaper.

Old-fashioned decorating Wall paper falling off walls Dirty bathroom And as for breakfast A total amateur set up And really dear drinks from the bar Will NOT go there EVER AGAIN Took 15 minutes from sitting down for someone to acknowledge us being there Asked for a cup of tea 'Well you didn't write it down on form. Do you want toast as well burnt toast arrived cold And a table behind us they brought there cooked breakfast while they was still eating their cereals JUST A COMPLETE SHAMBLES

We enjoyed our stay at the Quorn Hotel in Melton Mowbray. The family who run the hotel are wonderful, they were very kind and helpful during our stay. The hotel is a beautiful building and was impeccably clean and well stocked. The food was delicious. Big plus is that the hotel has a wonderful bar which was open and serves drinks until 10 pm. I highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, really convenient and a good value place to stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the beds were super comfortable. The team working there were all very friendly and welcoming. If you want a plush hotel with brand new fixtures and fittings then you'll pay a lot more elsewhere. If you want clean, comfortable and friendly then you won't find better in Melton.

The hotel has been, and could be a fantastic hotel. It is a little tired and in need of some major investment. I had two rooms and they were very large. However, the decor is very dated and some of the work completed is a bit of a ‘bodge’ job. Although breakfast is available, it is not within the room rate, you pay extra on arrival. The site says approx £9.50, inferring that it might not actually be the price. The restaurant is not open on Monday, which is an issue for anyone wanting breakfast. Although the breakfast was of good quality, you can get better at the Wetherspoon around the corner for the same price. In one room the TV did not work and the other had an extension lead to connect to services ( not best practice ) In the other room the door had to be fully opened due to furniture blocking the doorway. The bathroom in one room had residual orange brick dust after a repair may have been completed. The tap was loose on the basin. The shower in both rooms had such low pressure it neatly didn’t get you wet. Evidence of mould in the grout and on the bodged mastic. Electrical sockets wouldn’t switch off, dust on the window sills. Just little attention to details … If you have a front facing room you are met with road noise most of the day. From 5.30am the traffic is non-stop. The hotel bar was shut on our return to the hotel at 9.30pm. We eat there one evening and the Indian food was good quality. No issues with the huge car park at the rear of the hotel. The hotel is listed as 3 star and displays AA 3 star. It could be - but certainly not without serious investment. We wouldn’t use again, but one night businessmen looking for cheap, no frills bed it is fine.

We attended a wedding celebration and although the place was clean the duration of our stay didn't live up to that, the staff was friendly enough but the bar service wasn't very good and let the place down I was never charged the same price for the same drinks no matter how many times I attended and it was bottled beer at a premium price ,with only 2 beers on draught selection was very limited and there was never any one there to serve you and being a wedding reception it was crucial that some one was there to serve you plus you add to go looking each time to be served ,the food was ok and well presented so its a shame cos it with a little more thought it could be a great hotel with its function room hence the 2 stars Show less

Attended a wedding at this quaint hotel, staff were very friendly. Food very average what you would expect from a 90’s school canteen. The bar was expensive with a cheap choice would not recommend.
