Lovely traditional hotel with great staff and fine food. It is situated right in the middle of Melrose, with great walks and ruins nearby.

Burt's Hotel is perfect for a short break in Melrose - situated in the town centre it's perfectly located. Rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. Staff were very attentive. We had breakfast and dinner at Burt's and it was brilliant - fabulous quality and very well presented. We will definitely be back.

Excellent welcome at this hotel in the centre of Melrose. There is ample car parking, and secure storage for bicycles. The rooms are very comfortable. The restaurant serves a good selection of food at dinner and breakfast. All of the staff are friendly and courteous.

Upon arrival, the hotel looks clean and tidy from the outside, with a nice location in quiet village square. Some private guest parking is available to the rear of the hotel. First impression when entering the hotel are of a well maintained and well looked after traditional village hotel. All of the hotel staff from the reception, dining room and maid were friendly, polite and chatty, made us feel welcome. We arrived via motorcycle in torrential rain, and the chap at reception immediately offered to put our wet gear into the hotels warm boiler room to dry out, which was greatly appreciated. Our room and bathroom were clean and spacious with comfortable bed. We had our evening meal in the hotel and were amazed at how good the food was, our compliments to the chef! Breakfast the next morning was also superb.

This was the start of our St Cuthbert's Way walking trail and what a great start. Very friendly, and welcoming staff and an excellent breakfast, with plenty of choices. Of all the accommodation we stayed in over 8 nights, this one was joint first with another in Wooler.

I'll stay at this Melrose hotel again.
Everything was good at the hotel, the facilities in the room, nice tea tray, spotless bathroom good shower with easy temperature and flow controls (no problem with wet hands), bed really comfortable. Dinner and breakfast excellent quality food, plenty of choice and service efficient. All staff encountered were courteous and attentive.
