Breakfast was amazing - service was outstanding. Horrible smell in room upon arrival. Reception did not answer phone - so could not order food to room. Paid for sofa bed addition - it was unusable, so uncomfortable. Experience not as good as previous visits, would perhaps go elsewhere next time.

What a place, just wow. We had 2 days here, after walking Cotswold way, for recovery and relaxing. The stay meet all our expectations. Very nice place and the staff and the General Manager is very professiona. We can highly recommend this hotel.

My wife arranged a secret Afternoon Tea for her long life friend, when she booked she was told a confirmation email would be sent, four days later a day before she phoned to confirm the appointment, on arrival next day at reception, they were unaware of the booking and took time to find it, experience ruined, eventually we were shown to our table by a very unhappy staff member. Tea arrived after 5 mins and was plonked down on the table and they walked off, nobody asked if everything was alright, we waited half an hour before finding staff to see if we could have our sandwiches etc, they arrived no explanation of what the filling was or what selection of cakes and savouries, no body even when booking or out the whole experience asked have you any dietary concerns. The food was run of the meal fillings and cheap pastries and cakes, the scones were hard and hardly enough jam or cream for 3 people. When it came to paying, again had to find the staff to say can we pay the bill, there was a service charge of £9.25 discretionary, my wife said not paying that because of the bad service, the lad had to go away to make sure that was ok to do, when paint the bill it was split between two people (3 attended) my wife paid by card but the other only deals with cash, which they would not take, making her feel totally embarrassed, my wife paid the lot. Half the staff had uniform the other half didn’t, if you want a pleasant afternoon tea experience don’t go here. Bit of history we have been 3 time in previous years but since it’s been taken over its rubbish, this is part of a big hotel chain.

Had driven past the hotel many times but never thought about staying. Booked for my birthday and we weren't disappointed. It's a hidden gem in lovely grounds with an outdoor heated pool. It was a very hot day and chilling by the pool with a cold beer was amazing. Staff and guests were so friendly especially Elaine on reception. Food was excellent too although not the quickest of service but the hotel was quite busy. Our room at the top of the hotel was spacious and comfortable but very hot. Book a ground floor room if you come in a heatwave. Will definitely be returning.

We had a super 3 night stay in the garden apartment which has 2 beds, 1 bathroom, lounge/diner + kitchen and own garden area. All the food we had was great, especially the afternoon tea (thanks Elaine) with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets well catered for. The outdoor pool was heated to a lovely temperature and is kept really clean.

We had family visiting from abroad who stayed all week and we spent one night. Throughout the week the staff made us feel very welcome. Kane did fantastic cocktails and mocktails alike. He checked in on our group regularly. Elaine also needs a shout out for the effort she put in to make our and our families stay great. She helped us arrange at short notice to get us wedding ready and had helped out on the phone when we had some questions. Our room was lovely. It was a family room with beautiful decor and bathroom. Bed was super comfy. I would definitely recommend. Only thing to watch is the attic rooms are very warm in the summer where are family was staying.

Very good service and good food and drink and very nice pool and lovely grounds to walk around. We were celebrating a family member's 80th birthday and staff went out of their way to accommodate us, a particular mention for Michael and his great service and fun engagement with our family group. Main criticism has to be that rooms on top 2nd floor are far too warm and very poorly ventilated. Led to very poor sleep quality. We were in a family room, Hazel with very small windows which was next a heated room and even with a fan on all night and not even in the height of summer, it was far too warm. We had to leave even the door to our room open all night to have any through breeze, which was not ideal for security reasons. I dread to think what it would be like up there when it is over 30 degrees during the daytime. I understand it is impossible to install air conditioning because it is a listed building. Better to book a room in the adjacent Coach House building, which is much cooler.

We had a wonderful stay at Beechfield House to celebrate my father-in-law’s 80th birthday. We were a large group (13) and the staff were amazing in accommodating our requests. In particular, Michael (the manager) and Elaine (the receptionist) stood out in providing a friendly and professional service. They did everything they could to enable us to have an enjoyable stay.

Lovely hotel, the perfect place to visit in summer. We had a fantastic meal with some old friends at the beechfield, the staff were very welcoming and made the occasion thoroughly enjoyable, we would like to say a very special thank you to Michael who was very hospitable and nothing was too much trouble!
