I love to stay at Birkin Hotel whenever i travel to Melaka. It was a newly open hotel with spacious room. Location was good as just 10min drive to various food choice and Jonker Street.

Very nice and clean hotel. However, there were hiccups during check in. Check in time indicated is 3pm. We arrived at 4pm but was told that room not ready. Have to wait for 1 hour to get room allocation. So we brought the kids to the hotel’s playground and went back down to the reception 1 hour later only to be told to wait another 20minutes. After waiting for MORE THAN 20 minutes (with no staff at the reception at all) we went to enquire again. Was informed that we will be served next (after the current guest). So we waited again… in total, we waited about 2 hours just to get room keys. By then, our plans were all ruined due to the wait. We did not have time to explore Malacca Town as we have planned as it was a long weekend and we had to leave early the following day to avoid the traffic jam on the highway. All in all, the hotel is nice but the managing of the check in is terrible! 2 hours wasted just like that… if the reception staff informed us that it will take more than 2 hours to get the keys, perhaps we would not have waited at the hotel and proceed to town first. Hope to see improvement in this aspect

New and clean hotel with EV charging stations. Hotel room is facing the sea, room has big beds for families. Highly recommended if don't mind driving a bit further for food and stuffs.

We were told to self check in and the system prompted 4 passports are required but we are a family of 3. He made us did the whole procedure of self check in then cancelled it and made a remark: “that’s why! You have only 3. We will proceed manually”
No welcome drink. We saw other families being served.
Check in hotel finally and realized a family suite of 2 king size beds which is suppose to sleep a family of 4 gives us 2 sets of toothbrush/towel/slippers. We asked for extra set of everything and slippers didn’t come ( we later feedback this cuz the hotel staff ASKED for feedback and his standard answer for all the feedback we gave was - did you ask for help?)
Then hot water not working so that took another 30 minutes to fix. The people who came to fix was friendly.
We could hear random flushing noise the whole night and the occasional footsteps. The noise level was unbearable and we couldn’t sleep.
Place is very far off the main island. The only saving grace was that it was very very new but it also mean no civilization nearby. View was great though.
FYI you will be filmed right in your face when checking in/out ( do take note of the cameras behind the staff’s monitor) - we only realised when we’re checking out cuz that’s when we actually got some service from the hotel staff who asked for feedback and retaliated every single feedback was : did you inform us? Did you inform front desk?
