The Grand China Hotel exceeded our expectations! It is very retro, but the hotel is very new and beautiful! The design is very thoughtful, such as the bathtub and many other places use animal claws, and all the tables and chairs are cut carpets and glued to the legs of the tables and chairs. We stayed for three nights. Breakfast was ordered on the first two days, with a Chinese menu, and a buffet on the last day. There was a manager who could speak Chinese at the front desk. Fortunately, she told us that we could not take a night tour at the nearby pier, and we had to go to the scenic area to take a tour. The swimming pool is very small but very good, and we went there every day. There are many places to eat nearby. The front desk will tell you that there are two tea restaurants on the corner, which are open in two shifts day and night, but Wednesday is an exception. There is also a small alley further ahead (towards the scenic area). Many people go there to eat at night. There is a large restaurant across the street that is also crowded at night. There is also a popular "Chunxing Pancake" nearby. We bought it twice, and you can also order it with Grab. I got a minor illness on the last day. There is a very large private hospital next to the hotel, which is a two or three minute walk. I was given an IV and the highest configuration of medicine, and the final payment was 1,000 RMB. Service is particularly good. From the parking attendant to the breakfast and the check in staff. Breakfast can be better. Quantity is fine. We have stayed there twice in less than a year - July and Feb. Good to refresh the breakfast menu. The Nasi Lemak just needs some rendang or meat to raise the standard expected at Majestic. The dust on top of the safe in the room was obvious due to the lighting. Great stay. Would be happy to revisit.
