We spent the night here after spending the day exploring Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The hotel is in the center of town with parking available at the new end of the building. We opted to stay in the old section which meant a trek through the building and up the stairs. The elevator is in the newer section. The rooms were adorable but not large. The bathrooms were very nice. Each room has a teddy bear. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. It was very pleasant but just slightly above average for food. The bar was great. The bartender mixed us special cocktails that were both beautiful and delicious. The hotel has a lovely lobby with a great collection of books. A great place to stay when visiting the park.

We stayed in one of the Wooly Boys Inn cabins and were very disappointed. Worn, dated, dusty and smelly. We asked to be moved to the hotel, but there was no availability. The toilet seat needs replaced, the couch sags, ceiling fan and windows sills covered in dust and the quilts were very worn. Looks like it was decorated in the 90s and never updated.

Stayed here 2 nights while visiting the park. Enjoyed the old west atmosphere and decor. Our room was small but very clean, comfortable and convenient to everything in town. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not included which would be nice considering the price for a room. Or at least a discount for staying there. We chose to eat there one morning and elsewhere at Cowboy Cafe the other morning.

It's a neat hotel within walking distance of the many shops and eateries in Medora. The staff was extremely friendly and the rooms clean and quiet. The parking is limited so sometimes we had to park on the street in front of the hotel versus the parking lot which was no big deal.

First of all, I love historic hotels and was very much looking forward to this stay. With virtually no amenities I would have expected service and character instead, of which there was neither. There was nothing that gave the feel of staying in an 140 year old hotel. The staff were all nice, but zero training in service. Checking in we were simply handed a key and that was it. Checking out came with a simple "have a good one". Dining Room was very unprofessional and the second 8pm hit they were vacuuming and even took the flowers off of our table while we were finishing dessert. Also very odd that we couldn't charge our meal to our room...

Nicely decorated, quiet hotel in a convenient location. Rooms were clean and well supplied. Interestingly they have no rooms with two full or queen beds. This meant we had to each have our own room. This, of course, added to the cost but we knew that going in, Friendly, knowledgeable staff.

My husband and I had dinner at the Rough Riders restaurant. My husband had Walleye and I had Blackened salmon, it was so delicious. The dinners came with salad, the most delicious bread, Wild/brown rice and Asparagus. Portion sizes were large and I took some switch me. Service was excellent. Atmosphere too. Prices reasonable. Atmosphere great.

Although the Rough Riders Hotel was ~$300/night, it provided an excellent hotel to stay in for a tourist area. The location is hard to beat, being just a few blocks from the park entrance and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and ice cream. The rooms were quiet, spacious, and even informative with a nice touch of a book on Teddy and Medora history. The shower was top notch! The staff was multi-national and helpful for our needs.
