Yes, the location is beautiful. Yes, the grounds and facilities are beautiful Yes, the food is delicious. This was my second trip and the standard of service remains high. But what makes Santani special is the staff. Shashi (from the restaurant) - and the rest of the restaurant staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. He made us feel welcome and made sure all of our needs were met. Santani’s spa is coed - so plan accordingly. The quality of the therapies really varies depending on the staff assigned, but are generally high quality and delivered in a stunning location overlooking a forest. No air conditioner in the rooms. And no espresso- just French press. These are the only two things I wish I could have changed. Special place, worth a visit because of the staff and sublime architecture . Highly recommend!

Ich kann das Hotel - bis auf das gute Essen - leider überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Die Villen haben keine Klimaanlage und sie sind deshalb offen. Man hat das Gefühl ein großes Fenster sei offen - was mehr oder weniger auch der Fall ist. Wenn der Wind weht ist es Nachts sehr laut und ein erholsamer Schlaf ist kaum möglich. Zum Glück war das Wetter schlecht, weshalb die Moskitos welche mich Nachts gebissen haben „nur“ ca. 15 oder 20 waren. Das Netz rund um das Bett ist hübsch, hilft aber leider wenig. Auch der SPA Bereich war ziemlich enttäuschend, den hohen Preis berücksichtigend. Hinzukommt, dass das Hotel weit weg von allem anderen ist. Ohne 1,5 h kurvenreiche Fahrt auf engen Strassen in Kauf zu nehmen kommt man nirgendwo hin.

My wife and I spent a few days at Santani and really enjoyed it. The location is absolutely beautiful — very quiet and surrounded by nature, which was exactly what we needed to disconnect and recharge. The staff were all super friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always making sure we were comfortable. The room was clean, simple, and had an amazing view. We didn’t do many of the wellness activities, but just being there and enjoying the calm atmosphere was more than enough. Definitely one of the more unique and peaceful places we’ve stayed at. Would happily come back.

I had a really great time at Santani. All the staff are eager to help and nice. My favourite part was the swimming pool, which has a breathtaking view of the Knuckles Mountain Range. I recommend Santani to anyone looking to relax and recharge.

I had a relaxing time at Santani Wellness. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful, making them perfect for taking a break from a busy life. I want to thank Jeewaka especially. He was invaluable and friendly throughout my stay, and made sure everything went smoothly. The food was excellent – fresh, healthy, and full of flavor. Every meal felt thoughtfully prepared and perfectly suited to the wellness concept of the retreat. The rest of the staff were equally courteous and attentive, always ready with a smile and eager to help. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend Santani to anyone looking to relax and recharge.

The place is wonderful, the people are wonderful and the food is wonderful but there’s a massive floor in the details. The rooms are all built so that they are naturally ventilated which means there is no soundproofing whatsoever and it’s very very difficult to sleep. I find it incredibly ironic that I paid to come on a wellness package as I was suffering from insomnia and left feeling really unwell.

You just have to go and try it for yourself. Fabulous location and the views. Super green and peaceful, truly surrounded by nature. Amazing balanced food. Super helpful and kind staff. Great choice of treatments in the spa as well. Architecture is modern and clean and integrated into the nature. The only thing I liked slightly less was the yoga: it was only hatha, and the teacher was pushing quite a lot. I went only once. Please also note that the drive from the airport is quite long and tiring, with narrow roads and a lot of twists and turns. If I were to come again, maybe I would stay a day in Colombo, not go straight away from the plane.
