Comfort Suites Northlake

Roaches and more. My family stayed two nights for a Charlotte area family reunion. On Friday, two police officers walked the lobby area for about an hour. A family member asked if we were too loud & the officer said they were waiting for some people to leave. That was the first flag. The second flag came about 1130 PM when my daughter-in-law sent a message with pics of roaches in their room. Not too mention, they have an infant with baby bags. I met my son at the desk and they assigned them another room. Knowing, from college, roaches come out in the dark, I turned the room light on around 1 AM and this huge roach is running across the floor ( picture attached). While looking for other signs of infestation, my wife notices some mucusy blood on the edge of the bed. We informed the front desk early the next morning. The young man at the desk said they had seen a surge in roaches, confirmed by the manager. He also said the room would be cleaned. We left about 9 AM - cleaner came about 4 after we returned. We were offered another room but thought other rooms may be more roachy than ours, especially after desk manager said there was a surge. Also, we were assisting some of our senior family members so changing hotels was not a realistic option. The desk manager called suggested that I speak to the hotel manager during check out for compensation. She was matter of fact & with minimum empathy offered me approximately $30.00 in compensation or 5000 points ( not even a full night ). I reminded the manager what we went thru & now had to examine our suitcases and bags to ensure we didn't bring any of her Charlotte guests home with us - she said to call the GM. I called the GM's number and it says the number is invalid..just wow

I enjoy this hotel chain but this stay was exceptional. Very nice modern rooms, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was outstandingly different than the usual. Miss Charlotte made it even more welcome. She was a gracious host and meticulously kept everything spotless. I will stay here again!

Zion ,rob and John were excellent they deserve a raise !! Very knowledgeable about their jobs and very professional!!! I’m from out of town and I approve the rooms are clean and spacious I will come back every time

Great stay. Ms. Charlotte in the morning cooking breakfast is the BEST!!!!!! Always have very clean rooms and bathrooms. Best hotel in charlotte. Never had an issue checking in or out on busy holiday weekends. They staff is very friendly and helpful.

I don't expect the best from budget hotels but this one was as good as you could get for this price range. Above all, the staff was very friendly and helpful (not just the front desk but the cleaners, the person stocking the breakfast area, and the guy who maintains the pool). All the facilities that I used (laundry room, pool, ice machine) worked, which is more than I can say for many budget hotels. The room itself was clean and comfortable. A little humid for some reason? Presumably an issue with the A/C, but it worked so it wasn't bad. Clean bathroom, comfortable bed (but high off the ground so a short person has to do a little jump to get in). tl;dr - Great place for this price range. We'll be back next year~
