From start to finish, my stay at Knightsbrook Hotel was nothing short of an embarrassment to what Irish hospitality is supposed to represent. Breakfast was chaos – more like feeding time at the zoo than a four-star experience. Staff wandered aimlessly, utterly clueless and uncoordinated, as if they’d been thrown into service without a minute’s training. Cold food, no clean tables, and a waiting time that would test the patience of a saint. The whole thing was a shambles. The bar was another disaster. I witnessed what appeared to be underage staff behind the bar — which is not only unprofessional but illegal under Irish law. How this is being allowed to happen in a supposedly reputable hotel is beyond me. The bar manager, a heavy-set man with an appalling attitude, spoke to both staff and guests in a tone that bordered on aggression. If he had spoken to my son or daughter the way I witnessed, I would have been forced to intervene personally. Absolutely disgraceful. No guest deserves that kind of treatment. Then there was the young man with long hair working the bar — he smelled horrendous, and clearly had no clue what he was doing. Kept disappearing from the bar, leaving the remaining staff overwhelmed. I actually had to console one of his colleagues myself. Imagine a guest stepping in to do a staff member’s job — that says it all. The general hygiene, standards, and attitude of staff were shocking. Tables were left dirty for hours, bins overflowing, no sense of urgency or responsibility. The management, if you can call them that, were nowhere to be seen when things went wrong — which was constantly. Having worked in hospitality for over 30 years, I’ve seen busy weekends, I’ve seen staff under pressure, and I’ve seen hotels operate with grace and professionalism under strain. What I saw at Knightsbrook was none of the above — just mismanagement, poor training, low morale, and a complete lack of respect for guests. Shame on you, Knightsbrook. Sort yourselves out, or stop calling yourselves a 4-star hotel. I wouldn’t return if the stay were free.

Stayed at the Knightsbrook Hotel and Golf resort in Trim for one night to go to Emerald park, it's a fabulous hotel, spacious family room, golf, leisure centre and lovely food. Wish I'd booked 2 nights.

Stayed here as a family of 4 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The family room was a very decent size and had a balcony which was a lovely surprise. The pool was clean and quiet, we went early in the morning with two kids but the pool isn’t open for children until 9am so just be careful not to go before then like we did! The breakfast was very tasty, lots of options and everything was very fresh! A very lovely stay we will definitely be back!

Lovely getaway with the family - staff are very friendly and go the extra mile with the smallies. My wife had a treatment in the spa and she loved it. Good size rooms, very clean and great breakfast - would recommend
