Excellent 5 star hotel, very clean. Very friendly staff. Beautiful outdoor pool with views of the ocean and cityscape. Very well stocked and plentiful buffet lunch. A few minutes walk from Valletta

The hotel is 10 minutes away from the ancient city, but the road is 10 minutes sloping and there are many stone steps that make it inconvenient to walk. There was originally a free shuttle, but the local drivers were very lazy and often late, so many guests chose to walk. The hotel service is not good and receives many tour groups. No way is this a 5 star hotel.
The public areas are grand but the whole hotel needs a complete make-over.
Reception, check-in / check-out is a shambles.
Breakfast is rugby scrum.
Waiters / waitresses are absolutely useless.
Pool bar service is non-existent.
The bedroom very tired with a grubby carpet.
Very disappointed and again, no way 5 star.

We had a 5day stay at this hotel.
Staff were very friendly, good location as long as you were able to walk uphill.
Hotel is located on a hillside and if you had walking difficulties it would be awkward
to go out on foot. Outstanding food and spacious interior. Great harbour front location.
Convenient distance from Valetta which is great especially at night with outside bars
and cafes.
The hotel Maltese buffet on Weds night was really good and the chance to try out
Maltese food.
All in all a great holiday at a super hotel.

The hotel has slightly outdated facilities, but the service and restaurant are all at a 5-star level. The room has a partial sea view and a balcony for washing and drying clothes. I will stay there again next time I go to Malta.
