Comfort Suites McKinney-Allen

The best way I know to describe this stay is that you get just a little less than you pay for. It’s a mid-price hotel so you really can’t expect the Ritz after all. So the bar I set is to expect a basic room at a mid-bar standard - on that they are falling a little short. The rooms are fairly spacious and quite functional although maintenance is a concern. The desk chair piston was more or less dead - chair would drop to the bottom every time I sat it in and jump to the top as soon as I got up. The bed was Ok and the rest of the room was in working order. The workout room was more or less a wreck. Cardio machines were mostly functional but the cable machine is a wreck and has been for some time (not my first stay here). Breakfast is complimentary and basic - no issues there. Halls etc were OK - no major carpet holes etc but there was a fair bit of trash/beer bottles strewn about. This place seems to be popular for work crews and while they weren’t rowdy, they aren’t exactly about making sure their trash is properly disposed of. So given the rate and the value of of the Choice Rewards program (even an Amazon gift credit with each stay if you are an elite member) its OK - but they could do a bit more to keep things up. It’s close to the bar of paying an extra $20 for the Hampton Inn down the freeway but not quite.

It was quiet great staff , room was a bit dirty

There was a shootout at the Red Roof Inn down the block. The motel itself was disgustingly dirty. Could not get a refund through the hotel or trip advisor as someone had hijacked my email and I couldn’t provide the “correct” information. I’m not sure why this hotel has the rating it does.

Safe and cozy place.

Would not stay again. Place reeked once you walked in.
