Muluwa Lodge

Stunning views and relaxing When we arrived we had food in the sister lodge next door 2 mins walk away but it was stunning. Braai buffet style. Then had dinner and breakfast as Muluwa on our last night as it was reopened with new management. Absolutely perfect. Cannot fault it. We paid for a couple of the excursions. The sunset picnic was lovely. Whole day game drive was SO worth it with our lovely guide Liza. And massages were so good. This place really felt like a relaxing perfect start to our trip in SA. New manager was amazing too, helped us plan 2 days in panorama route after leaving Muluwa. We also walked the trail from the hotel and it was slightly overgrown but still some great views.

We stayed on a TripADeal package and loved every minute of our time at the lodge. It was full on as soon as we arrived with afternoon safari trip into Kruger National Park (1hr jeep drive b4 entering the park). Our driver was terrific and we saw many animals. Our tented accommodation was wonderful with a super king bed!. The views were incredible from our room out across the hills. The weather was a bit cool and unfortunately we didn’t get to use the lovely pool, but we had split system and electric blanket so we felt nice and cosy when we retired at night. Only a few minor things I would recommend the lodge consider is to maybe have an induction/information booklet available for guests. I had to ask staff on a few occasions what time was dinner, breakfast and accidentally found out about a lovely walk (over 6 km’s) you could do from within the property. Security was very tight and there were many animals roaming on the property including giraffes and impalas. I read in another review breakfast didn’t have much variety. I found it adequate enough as we were out in the bush and I certainly wasn’t expecting a full blown buffet breakfast you would find in a city hotel. There was an a la carte menu and buffet for cereals, toast, fruit etc. the drinks and food prices compared to Australia were very cheap. The meals have been excellent including a bbq with traditional African food. The staff went to great lengths to create a lovely outdoor dining experience. Would highly recommend staying at Muluwa Lodge.

Very nice facilities! Food was god but not a lot of options. Staff was great with the exception of the reception personnel. They seemed to be bothered when you asked questions or were to busy on their phones. Nobody even smiled. Booked a couples massage months in advance but when we showed up, the masseuse said she was the only one working and couldn’t do two at a time. If you offer a couples massage, you should have two masseuses.

Booked for the tent 1, was not what I expected, it was well built with good view of the mountains but I don’t see it safe during summer mostly the bathroom a snake might hide there while your using a shower but the rest was perfect Very comfortable beds Breakfast was good but no variety No enough space to pack u car when ur by the tents it’s scary at times that u might get a puncture

I loved the experience and the lovely welcome we received by the ladies at the reception. Not to forget to mention the old man who took us for the Sundowner, We really had a great time with him in the bushes, he really knows how to entertain people. Their breakfast and dinner was out of this world.

Just book and go !!! The venue, staff , food. Accommodation- Tent are luxurious, bed super comfy -best views Activities a must do- guided tours by Richard and Thabo super informative The views are breath-taking!!! Everything are amazing!!
