The hotel staff are truly an asset to this place. Throughout our stay, every member of the team we interacted with was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The food at MCShane was excellent, and the serving staff there was fantastic as well. The hotel's location is convenient, just a 3-minute drive from town.
My wife and daughter enjoyed the swimming pool and were very pleased with both its cleanliness and size.
If I had to be very critical, the TV in the room could use an upgrade, but it didn't impact our overall experience.

Just back from a lovely weekend stay at The Great National Ballina. Couldn't fault our huge family room. Beds were very comfy, blackout curtains, water, tea, biscuits waiting for us. The room was cleaned during our stay, which was a nice surprise - but not needed. Breakfast was good, but if ordering coffees, expect a wait. We enjoyed a couple of swims in the pool. We seen a sign for the kids club but we didn't get to use it as we were busy with other things. Would definitely stay here again & recommend it to others.

Beautiful spacious room, great location and all the staff were beyond amazing. So welcoming and kind. They made it so special for my two little ones. Kids club was a great added bonus and the bags they got on arrival were so sweet. You really understand the little details. Thanks for making our time so special.

Excellent from start to finish, friendly receptionist, super clean rooms, and AMAZING food. Great pool and spa centre. Super location for visiting any Mayo sites. Couldn't think of a better place to stay in the Wesht!

My wife had booked this location as it offered a deal even in July and offered a pool which I enjoy making use of. The bedroom was comfortable and the McShanes bar staff were always welcoming.. decorating my dessert plate as it was my birthday!

So many issues. No non alcoholic lager for entire stay and didn't even go and try get a few bottles to keep guests happy. Sister tried Guinness 00 as that's all ye had but no dilutable blackcurrant to add then to sweeten it a bit. Non alcoholic cocktail was nice but too sugary to be on all night.. then Ran out of limonchello for cocktails which my other sister was drinking. She only had 3 and it was not restocked but on as special on menu. Chairs in bar peeling leather. Looked awful 😞 No green tea for stay for my mother or any other guests. Breakfast was not run correctly and waiting for food and bread and fruit. 3 out of 4 tables in restaurant complained at breakfast to manager due to issues which was disgraceful including hair in ladies bread. Massive stain on carpet in one of our rooms. Weeds in pot 2ft high at main entrance door. Horrible to see on arrival. Definitely not a 4 star hotel and would not recommend to anyone. Lower staff were lovely and really tried to help but no support from management. Manager also was of no use and used excuses for everything. No offer of any compensation for any of it.
