Homewood Suites by Hilton Kansas City - Airport

Enough cannot be said about the exceptional services I received at the Hilton Homewood Suites Kansas City Airport. This location is truly honoring the Hilton Worldwide International Values & Mission. Conrad Hilton would be proud! The entire facility was immaculate, and the customer service 2nd to none. I had the pleasure to be welcomed & assisted by Thomas. He is a very dedicated, loyal, and intent on ensuring that the guest is highly satisfied, & the room is beyond the standards. Thomas personally visits each room prior to guest's arrivals. Each Team-Member is equally exceptional! I would certainly return for another stay. I felt very valued, appreciated, and cared for. I am normally a Drury fan but gave this hotel a chance based on it's location in relation to an event I was attending. There is a Drury not too much further and I will drive the extra distance next time. The hotel was probably very nice at one time, has a nice courtyard and my kids enjoyed the basketball court. The hotel itself is lacking in cleanliness and general upkeep. There were dead bugs on the lobby floor that seemed to remain ang grow in number throughout stay. The kitchen is advertised as full but does not have an oven, and the "stove" is basically a hotplate, so if you plan to cook, keep that in mind if you plan to cook. The dishwasher is not anchored and falls out when loading/unloading. The mattress on the pullout couch was badly stained/molded, so I was down a bed that I counted on using. The hotel staff were overall friendly. I did have a few issues that I was not happy with-- I was told, not asked, at check in that housekeeping would be suspended and we could request towels as needed. I had to make multiple trips to the desk for towels, toiletries, etc. My biggest problem was the toilet which was leaking from underneath and had obviously been caulked multiple times. I did not notice until the after cooking dinner and when I requested to be moved was told that we could not move because we had used the room and it could not be resold. When I pointed out that a room with sewage seeping from under the toilet should not be sold, I was told there was one room available with no air conditioning. Neither option was appeasing, so we stayed in the room, they did come work on the toilet the next day. By this time I felt the room should have been cleaned due to who knows what being tracked everywhere. Though to be fair, the carpet was stained and the floors did not appear to have been swept/mopped well, so it would have likely been shoes on the whole stay either way. I did complain to management and they offered points, but I have never experienced cleanliness issues at Drury and plan to resume staying with them as usual.

This is my review of the Homewood Suites hotel in Kansas City MO, located near the international airport. I’ve stayed here previously in the last year, and have had good experiences and good service. On June 29, 2025, I checked in here for a 4 day work related trip and I discovered that now I have to pay to park. And I also found out the hotel that I stayed at the previous week is also going to charge for parking. Now I will say that I have a clean room and all that, but still…. I don’t know how other people think of this, but in my opinion, that’s nickel and diming people, given the high cost of pretty much everything these days. All this because of proximity to an airport. Bad business practice in my opinion. If paying a hotel near a airport to self park doesn’t bother you, so be it. If it does, then let’s show these hotels the error of that decision by not giving your patronage.

If you were going to stay at this hotel, it will likely be because it’s the only one available. There are trash cans and dirty towels in the hallways because we were told management does not employ more than two cleaning staff. They only have three floors, only clean every other day, only do nothing more than empty the trash, change the towels and make the bed, and they still can’t get it done in two days. We’ve stayed here twice this summer and were given the same excuse both times. Some of the rooms smell like smoke. A the second time we stayed, they charged daily for parking, but it is not published on their website. The staff was rude and dismissive.I will never stay here again again, and would not recommend it for anyone.

Comfort! My sister and I speak the night here waiting for my brother to arrive the next day. After a long drive up from Texas, this room was a delight!

First off, the staff were very kind and helpful and did a great job assisting us. However, the physical state of the property is just falling apart. Not working: 1st room AC was out (80 degrees in the room), would have just opened windows, but there were no screens and there were wasp/hornets all over the roof line and windows, so we didn't want to invite them in. Pure filter wouldn't turn on (?) And the room had a strange smell, maybe an animal/pet? 2nd room thermometer battery needed replacing, not a big deal, but it is a good thing to check. A lot of water damage to balcony doors, and generally run down room. Pool was out of order, glad we didn't come over earlier in the day. A notification would have been helpful. I realize it is difficult to maintain these old properties, but since you asked me to share, I hope it is helpful.
