Maumee Hotels with Pools

Immaculately clean rooms, friendly and accommodating front desk workers, comfy beds in a convenient location at a reasonable price- couldn’t ask for more. I’ll add that the rooms are very large; lots of shelves, drawers, tables. And the convenience of a heavy curtain to separate the sleeping area from the sofa is appreciated when one of the guests (me) gets up very early. The kitchen area has everything we needed, including salt and pepper. And the coffee is good, especially with the liquid creamers they provided in the room. The walk in shower is a great convenience for us.

While the staff was friendly and helpful, the hotel had some serious issues. The first day, we realized that one of the tvs didn’t work. We mentioned it to staff and they said we could switch rooms, but we had already unpacked with the baby and it was going to be a lot to switch, so we stayed. Then we saw that in the bathroom, the toilet paper was stained and there was clear water damage above the shower. It didn’t seem unsafe, however, and everything was usable, so we made do. Problems got worse the second day. We went to shower and not only were there no washcloths and towels that were far smaller than standard, but there didn’t seem to be enough water pressure to work the shower. I was able to make it work once earlier in the day, but it did not work at all later in the day or the following morning. By this point, we were told we could not switch rooms. Final issue was the pool. When we tried to take our son down the first time, it was closed for cleaning. Not a big deal; it has to happen. There wasn’t a notice or sign or anything to warn us though, so between getting ready, figuring out what was happening, and getting back dressed, we lost a good chunk of time and had a very cranky toddler. The next morning, we went to try again and were told that the pool didn’t open til 9 despite the big sign saying that is opened at 6. Thankfully it was not too much beforehand and the staff let us in while they cleaned the pool deck. There was a layer of bubbly chemicals just sitting on top of the water, which had me concerned, but we rinsed off afterward in the small stream of water coming from the bathtub when we returned to the room and no one seemed to have a reaction. All in all, the hotel felt safe and staff was kind, but it was one little thing after another that resulted in way more complications than I needed in my trip and one very smelly husband who couldn’t clean off well in the little tub trickle. I would not recommend it unless you really just need a safe bed and some good breakfast.

Management and staff are certainly on their ”A” game at this hotel trying to ensure the health and safety of customers and employees during COVID. I was very impressed with the overall cleanliness. You could tell that they are working very hard and putting a lot of time and effort into keeping their property in tip top shape during this pandemic. This is hotel and their staff should be a model of how all hotels should operate. Breakfast was good considering what you would expect during COVID. You can only do so much during this time to keep customers and employees happy and most of all healthy! Great job! BTW besides being extremely clean it appears to be a newly renovated hotel as everything looks great!

I booked my stay through Trip Advisor for Aug. 30-Sept. 1 for a total of $365.31. I was traveling from Alabama to Ohio for a family member that was on hospice care in their last days of life. I was not able to make it to the hotel Friday night but I did not cancel my reservation. When I arrived Saturday, I was told by the front desk employee that my reservation had been canceled. The employee told me they still had a room available and the rate was a little less than Trip Advisor was charging. I was then charged $230.79 for Sat & Sunday nights. The employee advised I would need to call Trip Advisor to have them reach out to the hotel to reverse the charge for the first charge which I did. I have yet to receive a response or resolution. I have now had AmEx dispute the charges. Trip Advisor and Fairfield Inn Marriott need to get it together as I’m currently out $600 for 3 nights at a below par hotel.

Staying for the second time, the price is reasonable, the environment is good, parking is convenient, eating is convenient, there are some shopping malls around, and overall it is very good.

There are many restaurants and drinks around, which is convenient

Although I asked for a 2nd floor room when I booked I ended up with floor level room & they were all booked so it's all I could get. 2nd floor is better so you don't hear people walking around. The room was clean & offered all I needed for my 2 night stay including a fridge & microwave. I didn't like that the bathroom doesn't have towel bars to hang towels & all the linens are on shelves near the floor instead of up higher. I would definitely book here again in the future.
