We visited for a weekend away. It was slightly difficult to gain access, no initial answer to ring door bell and no answer to phone number but we did receive a call back and was gained entry. The gent who greeted us was very friendly and gave us a little tour and basic information. Hosts do not stay on sight, only for meet and greet, however they leave all means of contact and are not far away. This was lovely as we felt relaxed, as if no one was on our backs eg maids etc. you have to preorder breakfast via a slip and I was so humbled that each request was actioned. On our 2nd morning I asked for marmalade, and they must have known I loved the orange juice the day before so they had left a extra jug on the table which was so kind. The whole building and rooms are beautiful , not absolutely spotlessly clean if you investigated throughout however to a very high standard . Sadly the bed was too soft for us but that could be as we are a little more than average weight. I’m going to add out negative view here as do not want to finish on one, we feel a mini fridge or a communal fridge would be a good touch, even if guests had to pay a little extra. We spent so much money getting cold and fresh drinks before coming back to the room, and it would be nice to have somewhere to store snacks or alcohol if need be. The building and garden is so well kept, our absolute favourite part was the riverside where you can sit so close and enjoy the peace , and look for wildlife. I cannot express how much we have enjoyed our visit, I have come away feeling calm, uplifted and refreshed. It is such a hidden gem, I kind of want it to stay that way to protect it ! Thank you so very much x

Myself and my wife were attending a family event in Matlock and we decided to stay at Riverbank House due to its central location - near shops and eateries in the town centre. The room was clean and comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome by the owner and other staff. We had a lovely breakfast too. Would definitely stay again and hope to do so soon.

Very nice B&B in a good location . Staff were friendly and welcoming and breakfast was excellent. Within walking distance of several bars and restaurants and about 25 - 30 min walk to the Heights of Abraham . Recommended.

Excellent accommodation in the heart of Matlock. Room was clean and comfortable with a view of the River Derwent. Tea and coffee in room. Staff were lovely, very friendly, a special shout out to Angela, what a lovely lady she is. Also met the owners Graham and Jenny, a lovely couple. You should be very proud of all you have achieved here.

Our first stay in Matlock, thankfully, found Riverbank house, which is a great place to stay. The owners and staff are brilliant, and the situation is perfect for access to the town, park, and other amenities. Our view from our room was of the well-kept rear garden, which backs onto the river Derwent and the local park. A nice walk or bus ride to the Heights of Abraham and Matlock Bath make the Riverbank the perfect place to stay when visiting the area. Thanks to the team. See you again. Rob and Tina
