Radha Cottage

Radha's Cottage is a lovely retreat, very well located at the end of the road in Matheran. It's a simple place, furnished largely with period furniture. The food is outstanding - the best I've had in 6 weeks of traveling in India. For those who are unfamiliar with Matheran as I was, a couple pieces of information: - The "toy train" runs very infrequently. Be sure to get a schedule if you plan to take it from the parking. - It's a 4.5km walk from the train station near the parking to Radha's. Don't believe the stationmaster if he tells you it's a 20 minute walk, it's an hour's walk. - It's still another 1.5km from the train station in the village to Radha's. If you've got a bag it's probably a good idea to get some help from a porter. - Sometimes the electricity goes out. When we stayed, these outages were brief, just a minute or 2. - Sometimes the water in the bathroom is dark brown. This surprised us one morning. It's dirt, and cleared during the course of the day.

It was a great experience. We were a family group with people of all ages including kids and senior citizens. We were made to feel absolutely at home .... The entire staff was extra helpful. The ambience of the place is so welcoming. The food was fresh and energizing. Being a little away from the noise of the bazaar area is the USP... Truly relaxing and rejuvenating....

WE VISITED TWICE TO THIS BEUTIFUL PLACE RADHA COTTAGE . EXCELLENT STAY , LOCATION ,SERENITY , FOOD . WE STAYED FOR 2 DAYS AND WALKED DAILY FOR 8 TO 10 KM. THE RADHA COTTAGE IS LOCATED AT VERY GOOD STRATEGIC LOCATION , YOU CAN ROME AROUND COTTAGE VERY SAFELY . IF YOU LOVE GENUINE FAMILY TIME ,THIS THE PLACE WHERE YOU LEAVE BEHIND ALL HUSTLE BUSTLE OF CITY LIFE . THEY ARE UPGRADING THEIR RESORT AGAIN WITH SWIMMING POOL . DR JAY BHANDARKAR , Navi Mumbai

For Diwali vacation I came to visit my parents from Australia. This time we also wanted to go somewhere out but very close to Mumbai for a 2 days outing so we decided that Matheran is the ideal place for that. While checking for best places to stay in Matheran I came across this resort. But there were 2-3 reviews which were negative posted recently and I was concerned about it. But the past reviews and Radha Cottage’s overall review and star rating was good so we decided to make a reservation for 2 nights. To my surprise this place was even better than the pictures. When I entered matheran’s market area I was totally disappointed with the place but but the real best place was this beautiful resort which is away from the market. Secluded in the forest. Zero noise! Just peace!! The food is one of the best highlights of our stay. In Australia I was missing the home cooked food and here it was the best delicious food I had full homely cooked style. I loved the desserts too. Puran Poli made me so happy I can’t even express the sheer happiness I had on my face! The staff is very polite and very helpful. My parents need hot milk at 11:30 PM and they served us that too without fail. They take care of you and your family as their own family members and you can understand that. My trip to India was memorable because of Radha Cottage! Highly recommended

Very nice resort away from the market. It is covered in good forest area so you feel a lot of temperature difference between the market area and when you are at Radha Cottage. I loved the rooms because they were very clean and well kept. The food is delicious no doubt in that. I already knew that the food will be the best because I read all the reviews about their maharashtrian cuisine. Loved the ambiance of the entire property. They have taken care of the activities like they have indoor play area and good library with good books to read. And in the peaceful climate you can read a lot. I want to thank Santa, who was always there to help us.

It was horrible experience with property staff is very rude and unprofessional.. I was expecting good service but got done.. rooms was very dirty and fungal in the room ... Food was worst.. I will not recommend this property my hole life ... Please ignore if you are booking this property

The food is very homely and nicely cooked, I felt at home. The host is very nice and very friendly. Nice place to chill and enjoy, in between nature. The sunset point is near the cottage and hence you can just walk there in the morning and enjoy the sunset

Excellent stay experience. Awesome food and food variety. Truly complete package for friends and family stay. Magnificent garden surrounding. Magical ambience at night.  Sort of Vintage setup gives Coozy Feel. One of the best place I have seen. Totally worth to stay and enjoy.
