The place is gorgeous and very cozy. However we were very dissapointed in the spa. The sauna doesn’t get hot enough and there is no cold bath. We also were hoping to find a little gym to get a workout in during our stay.
The beach and its activities are fantastic.
Overall we found the place to be overpriced/overated for what it offers. We give it a 7/10. We are happy we experienced it but we wouldn’t go back.

Le site est magnifique, les activités à faire sont nombreuses pour ceux qui recherchent le plein air. Les employés sont très accueillants et serviables, nous reviendrons cet hiver pour profiter des pistes de ski de fond. Un très beau séjour!

The good: The view of the lake is beautiful. The rooms are very nice. The Cerf Rouge is an excellent restaurant. The bad: - Beach. (I went there to essentially lie on the beach, so I am biased towards this aspect!) The beach is not large, and there are only a handful of chairs. Be sure to be there EARLY to get a chair. Asocials at the hotel will "reserve" - put their towel on the night before - about half of them. There is no system in place whatsoever. When I asked the employees, they simply responded that the chairs are for clients. We are clients too ... I would also aadvise NOT to go on the weekend if you want to enjoy the beach. It will fill up twice as fast as usual. On Saturday, half of it was taken over by a group of drunk guests who were blasting music and making a nuisance of themselves. Their children had been calling 911 and the police eventually showed up. No arrests - unfortunately. - Safety. Please make sure your kayak will FLOAT before taking it out. Ours had a leak and we had to stop at an island half way to empty the water. We told the attendant - he simply shrugged, mumbled something about having a look at it later, and left the kayak for others to almost drown in. Very little regard for safety... - Infrastructure. The electricity went out for 3 days in the hallway. The escalator worked 2 or 3 times for us - it was out of order the rest of the time. We had to drag our luggage down 3 flights of stairs... The hotel did not give any updates as to what was going on, nor how long it was going to last.

Bel endroit en nature avec magnifique plage pour se baigner et profiter du soleil. Nous avons apprécié les sentiers pour marcher avec pitou surtout après les bons repas concoctés au cerf rouge. C’était tout simplement délicieux. Les plantes qui agrémentent le site sont très bien entretenues cela donne un magnifique coup d’œil. Bravo à la dame qui s’en occupe. Petit bémol toutefois les chambres ne sont pas nettoyées chaque jour, il faut en faire la demande. Aussi, autre petite critique constructive, le spa n’était pas tout à fait propre. De petites mousses flottaient à la surface, c’est ennuyeux. Aussi, les baies vitrées de la piscine extérieure auraient intérêt à être nettoyées plus assidûment. Mais bon, en général, tout y est pour passer un bon moment loin de la ville et c’est très relaxant. Enfin, je ne peux passer le fait que les employés qui y travaillent sont tous gentils et toujours prêts à vous aider et à vous donner le maximum pour nous donner satisfaction. Première fois que j’y vais mais sûrement pas la dernière fois bravo !

Nous avons achevé notre voyage au Québec par un séjour à l’auberge du lac taureau. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l’environnement,, la qualité de l’hébergement mais surtout la gentillesse du personnel en particulier de Maude, responsable des activités avec laquelle nous avons découvert la nature environnant, avons appris les rudiments du paddle et effectuer une promenade nocturne en kayak. Elle est très pédagogue et patiente avec les enfants. Nous n’avons qu’une hâte, revenir bien vite

Wie so oft im Leben gilt auch hier, der erste Eindruck zählt. War hier leider nicht gut. Ich bin mir bewusst, dass sich das Hotel im französisch-sprachigen Teil Kanadas befindet. Das man als Gast allerdings an der Rezeption als Gast zweiter Klasse behandelt wird, so man den kein Französisch spricht, finde ich für ein Hotel dieser Größe und Eigenwahrnehmung unangemessen. Auch der nachfolgende, unaufgeforderte zugesandte, Mailverkehr war komplett in französisch. In einer kleinen Auberge o.ä. kann ich das gut akzeptieren, aber hier möchte man ja eigentlich schon eher ein Resort sein und da erwarte ich eine größere Internationalität. Ansonsten wird hier Urlaub nach Industriestandart geboten. Frühstück und Abendessen waren gut und hier war das Personal freundlich und auch dem englischen mächtig. Vielleicht sollte man hier mal eine Personalrotation mit der Rezeption nachdenken. Das Hotel ist beileibe nicht schlecht - nur der erste Eindruck hat es deutlich verschlechtert. Ich würde bei einer Wiederholung unserer Rundreise diese Position auslassen. Ausser Mücken und einem See ist hier nicht viel gegeben.
