Serene villa stands out due to the most attentive service that is offered by Swarna and the rest of the staff. The location is a short walk away from the beach where one can go surfing, snorkeling and swimming. There are numerous restaurants offering many different cuisines and one is spoilt for choice! We had a very comfortable stay and will definitely return.

Only a 3 minute walk (uphill) from the beach this guesthouse is in a great location. However the room I had was quite dark and old. The beds we’re comfortable but there were a lot of ants in the room. Breakfast was good but super simple. Overall I thought this was expensive for what you get. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at Serene Villas. The place has so much character - loved the greenery within the property and the sit-out / hangout spaces. The breakfast was a lot more than we expected - guacamole and salsa were on point! The rooms were spacious and comfortable and having a separate area with a kitchenette when travelling with kids is always welcome. What makes this place extra special is the staff. They were extremely helpful and obliging (even went out at night to get some ice cream for us!). It’s just a 2 min walk downhill to the hiriketiya horse-shoe bay (the climb back up isn’t as fun but think of it as burning calories after a scrumptious meal on the beach :)). Will definitely visit again & highly recommend a stay at serene villas.

We recently spent a week at Serene Villa in Hiriketiya. Everything about our stay was fabulous. All the staff are super friendly, helpful and doing their absolute best to make your stay as comfortable and nice as possible. Nothing is too much for them. Great breakfast, clean and pleasant rooms, beautiful gardens and surroundings, very relaxing. Can't wait to come back!

I would have given Serene Villa a 5 but for one major reason I fealt that I could not. Great location, within a couple of minutes' walk to beautiful Hiriketiya Beach. My room was fairly spacious but the bed took up most of the space - I had to squeeze in and out to turn the lights on and off. Breakfast is readily available daily in the hotel dining area-a nice chill place. The electricity tripped every day which caused the mini fridge to leak constantly. I overcame this by mopping up the water twice a day. All this, however, is by the by; small matters that were easily dealt with. The one complaint I have and cannot ignore was the laundry service. Every time my laundry was returned, without exception, it came back smelling dank and sickly and the smell got worse the longer the item of clothing was worn. I mentioned this many times to the management but nothing changed. As I write this review I realise I'm wearing a T shirt that was washed at Serene, and yes, it smells. A bit disappointing, after so many months of staying at Serene. However, overall I was very happy there.
