First time in Crete and we had a blast at this hotel :) Pros- 1. Wide selection of delicious Cretan food served at breakfast & dinner buffet 2. Friendly, smiling & accomodating hotel staff 3. Well decorated exterior- especially the garden & pool, really enjoyed taking photos 4. The staff will just let you leave your bags if your transfer is late in the night and you needed to check out already. They even will let you use the pool and the public toilet & shower Cons- 1. No wifi connection in the room 2. No toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste- so remember to bring some with you 3. No coffee & tea- but there’s kettle if you buy your own coffee & tea 4. Ac- broke down during our last night Overall, I can recommend this hotel for people who are flexible to the cons and not get easily disappointed, and must have a positive outlook like us :) I am writing here just for a full & honest review to help others out there who wants to know more 🫶🏻 Hope this review helps! ❤️

Wir waren für 4 Tage in Matala in diesem Hotel. Als Erstes muss ich das Personal loben. Ob es um Informationen, Hilfe oder Service ging. Immer waren die Leute sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Dann ist die Lage fernab vom großen Geschehen, aber noch sehr nahe zum Strand und der Innenstadt. Das Hotel ist sehr schön. Die Zimmer sind neu renoviert. Die Betten sind sehr schön und bequem, Das Bad war mit allem, was man braucht, ausgestattet und sehr nett. Balkon gab es nicht, da wir im Erdgeschoss waren, also Terrasse. Um die Ecke rum befand sich der Pool, mit Liegen unter Bäumen. Überhaupt gab es viel Grün. Dann war da noch ein Pool für Kinder mit einem Spielplatz und Rutschen. In einem großen, offenen Raum gab es Frühstück und Abendessen. Beides sehr gut, immer gut bestückt, geschmacklich hervorragend und viele griechischen Gerichte. Danke an den Koch. Die Getränke zum Abendessen waren sehr gut. Es gab eine gut bestückte Bar.

Das Hotel wurde total renoviert. Alle Zimmer neu ausgestattet, das Bad sehr schön auf den neuesten Stand gebracht. Neue Matratzen, neue Liegen am Pool. Für Kinder wurde ein kleiner Spielplatz eingerichtet sowie ein kleiner Pool. Das Abendessen bietet jetzt wesentlich mehr Auswahl und ist sehr schmackhaft. Die Bewertungen von 2013 sind nicht mehr zutreffend. Das Personal ist wie immer sehr freundlich. Ein Föhn im Bad ist jetzt auch vorhanden.

Hôtel qui a du potentiel. Grandes chambres . Matelas ferme mais on sent les ressorts. Il serait préférable d’avoir un sur matelas. Pas d’eau chaude 2 jours sur 3 vers 17h… petit déjeuner acceptable. Très belle piscine. Calme

We stayed at this property in Matala from 2 to 10 September, in room 19 (2 adults and 1 child). The hotel is very simple, in an excellent position to go to both the beach and the centre of Matala, and there is a very pleasant swimming pool. Our room was spacious and nice with a basic and repetitive breakfast. We had an unpleasant experience, as we had deposited our documents and cash in the safety deposit box (lockable), from which unfortunately €600 was stolen, €350 from my wallet and €250 from my husband's. We have been going on holiday to Crete in this area for years, for the first time in this hotel that we did not know, but nothing like this had ever happened to us. We returned very disappointed and bitter, €600 is not a trifle....
