Grand Hotel Due Golfi

Please book here for the view! We had a sea facing room and we were constantly amazed looking out towards Mt Vesuvius. Our room was incredibly clean and the facilities available the pool etc was perfect. Staff were all very friendly. The food and drink (as with most in Sorrento) was a little overpriced but we had budgeted for this. We enjoyed breakfast every morning some reviews say this is basic, but I don’t know what else you would want as it was all fresh and plenty of variety. We appreciated that the hotel had a car park just round the corner from the hotel. This was free and we had no issues parking. The hotel is about 15 mins drive down to Sorrento for reference. We had a delightful stay here at Grand Hotel Due Golfi enjoying our holiday to Sorrento. The air-con in our room wasn’t the best. It was centrally managed by reception and we asked them to reset it for us which did help but if you want it ice cold or to manage yourself this isn’t the hotel for you. Other reviews have mentioned the shuttle bus. We used this once and for a 4 star the bus was filthy and not very frequent, especially in the evening. Worth hiring a car instead. The WiFi can be intermittent but it wasn’t too problematic.

As we have stayed in Sorrento on a few occasions, decided to stay just outside it this time. So glad we chose this hotel and this location. The views are amazing (sea view rooms are worth it). Can't top anything said by previous reviewer, but I could not fault it.

We had a fantastic stay at Grand Hotel Due Golfi in July. It’s about a 20-minute drive uphill from Sorrento, which gives you stunning views over the Gulf of Naples and a welcome breeze in the July heat. The pool is a standout – large, cold (but refreshing!), and never overcrowded. You’ll easily get a lounger, but parasols are limited, so aim to be down by 9:30am to snag one. That said, there’s also a shaded seating area with comfortable couches, so no stress. The toilets are spotless, and there’s a bar open all day with limited snacks and lunch available from 12:00 to 14:30. Rooms are small but clean, with high ceilings, comfy beds, and Smart TVs. We paid extra for a sea view, but honestly, you get the same amazing view from the pool, so we’d skip the upgrade next time. The hotel seemed to attract older families – mostly teens and adults – which was perfect for us. There was one day with two couples who let their toddlers cry and scream non-stop in the heat, which was tough going, but thankfully that was the exception. I’d say this isn’t the place for small children, and that’s part of what made it so relaxing for us. Breakfast was great, with a generous buffet and lovely staff. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus, and there’s a secure, gated car park just across the road if you’re driving. It’s only a short walk into Sant’Agata, which has some lovely restaurants – but be careful as the roads aren’t ideal for pedestrians. We found Sorrento and Positano both hot, overcrowded, and a bit underwhelming, to be honest. We preferred the village feel of Sant’Agata and were glad to stay in the hills. Tip: Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper – you might hear some cleaning activity from around 8am, but it wasn’t a major issue for us.
