I stayed in the King room with the jetted whirlpool tub. I had been looking forward to a nice soak after travelling all day. I was disappointed and appalled to walk into the bathroom, look in the tub and find a black ring of soap scum and mildew all around the inside of the tub at the high water mark. ICK!! At first it looked like it was just a small spot in one corner, so I took my shoes off, grabbed a bar of soap and washed it off. But then as I was working on it, I was that it went all the way around. It was horrible. Just NASTY! I scrubbed the entire tub. As I finished scrubbing, I saw a great big glop of soap or toothpaste on the toilet. I had to scrub that. Then I was about to rinse off the washcloth I'd been using and saw all kinds of black and brown grit in the sink. So I ended up scrubbing that, too. I'd no sooner finished cleaning out the sink and I noticed dirty grey drip marks down the outside of the tub. You guessed it. I scrubbed that too. So after having essentially cleaned the entire bathroom, I looked around the rest of the room. The carpet was stained, there were more dirty grey drip marks on the wall near the door, the towel rack was half off the wall, the sheer window curtains were ragged. Thankfully, at least the sheets and pillow cases were clean and fresh! Having scrubbed the bathroom, with the exception of the floor, which had quite a bit of grit on it, but that was back in the corners, so left it alone, I did decide to risk using the tub. When it finally filled and I turned the jets on, all kinds of black stuff (I assume it was more mold and soap scum) shot out of the jets. DISGUSTING! In the morning I reported the tub issues to the front desk. She tried to excuse it by saying that the room had just been renovated, and I was the first person to use it since being renovated. No. A "newly renovated" room should not have tattered curtains, stained rugs, or stained walls. And renovated or not, nothing excuses an unclean bathroom, with unwashed sink and toilet. And it certainly does not excuse a tub with a nasty soap scum/mildew ring around the tub. OK, so to be fair, the floor in the bathroom did look new, and renovation would explain the grit on the bathroom floor. But it also raises the question of why was the floor not washed or vacuumed after renovation? The person at the desk, didn't seem to interested in the issues with the room. She gave me a very insincere apology and said she'd give me a bunch or "points". But didn't ask how the rest of the room was or show any interest in any other aspect of my stay. Very disappointing. I definitely won't be staying there again.
