Bedbug infestation!
The first room I was given did not have working heating. They offered a room swap, which I did take them up on. The second room had bed bugs, which bit me three times! Then the third room also had bed bugs which bit me twice! Although I was offered new rooms, none of which were any better than the last.
Also the noise from a local bar was extremely loud, especially in the last room. Something to note for other people staying here. Certainly would not recommend!!

Overnight whilst working away
This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel and have to say its very good. Its rooms are dated but they are clean, warm and comfortable. The hotel staff are fantastic and are very welcoming. I didn't have my dinner here this stay but as before the breakfast is superb.
100% recommend this hotel, value for money is brilliant.

Only 3 hrs sleep
Very thin walls and ceilings I was kept awake all night but the room upstairs leaving there tv on, could here every time someone coughed or used the bathroom, will not stay there ever again as no compensation was offered

Poor quality bed, great breakfast
The mattress was one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever slept on. I could feel every spring. No comfort whatsoever.

What a lovely stay at the golden lion
This is a great hotel in maryport, lovely friendly staff. They have 2 excellent restaurants, the breakfast choice is very good x
