Rachel is een fantastische gastvrouw. Ze verraste ons bij aankomst met een gratis upgrade van een kamer naar haar meest luxe cottage, omdat die ook vrij was. We kregen een welkomst “bubbel”. Het huisje was leuk ingericht met keuken, royale badkamer, woonkamer. En alles verzorgd en schoon. Rachel heeft 2 keer voor ons gekookt. Beide 4 gangen menu’s zeer smakelijk en met bijpassende wijnen. Wat wil een mens nog meer.

Incredible place with incredible food. Rachel our host was wonderful and is a gourmet cook. Enjoyed Mia and the cat also. Visited 2 of the many wineries while we were staying there. Beautiful edible garden in the wonderful town of Martinborough. The place to stay.

Last June we had the privilege of staying at the Prodigal Daughter Gourmet Lodge with good friends where we were hosted by the fabulous Host and Owner Rachel Priestley. The rooms are beautifully appointed, Rachel's cuisine was simply outstanding (along with the wine pairing!). You have a fabulous business and visitor experience Rachel. We will be back! Brilliant host, beautiful accommodation
Exceptional boutique hotel - themed rooms and bathroom - comfortable house with excellent host.
Dinner is by request but it is sumptuous - Rachel is a wonderful and creative chef.
Martinborough is a lovely town - small and flatland with numerous restaurants, bars, shops and surrounded by many enjoyable vineyards. Olive Oil groves are nearby too.

Excellent stay.
Very enjoyable stay. Perfect location. Easy walk into town centre. Easy to rent bikes to visit local wineries. Great continental breakfast.

Great personal experience friendly inviting atmosphere. Good way to meet other travellers and enjoy delicious hand crafted food. Comfortable room easy walking distance to town centre and some vineyards. Freshly grown produce on site and handed meats.

We normally don't stay at a place like this. We saw it offered a restaurant and bar so thought that was an alternative to going out for a meal. This was never mentioned on our arrival. The room was fine, a lovely comfortable bed but I wasn't keen on all the bits and pieces on tables etc. There wasn't anywhere to put our things. The ensuite was far too small, once again no where to put things. We were given a lovely breakfast, which was much appreciated. Perhaps this sort of accomodation is not for me.
