A historic Chateau set in lovely gardens with panoramic views over Martillac and surrounding countryside. Great car parking. My room had oak beams in the ceiling and was scrupulously clean with lovely bed linen and beautifully decorated with antique furniture. The view from the room into the inner courtyard and the ancient church of Martillac was charming. I loved the tea/ coffee making facility and the gratis bottle of water. The hosts also leave a bottle of local Bordeaux wine (cost €14) which was a lovely touch. The hotel has a welcoming bar downstairs and in the evening offers a limited menu of platters ( one charcuterie and one cheese platter) to accompany evening drinks on the terrace and this suited most guests as most were walking 4 minutes round the corner to go to the local restaurants in Martillac. Loved the swimming pool, especially since the weather was so hot. The buffet continental breakfast in the morning was very good with freshly baked bread, croissants and home made jams the star of the buffet. I met the owners at breakfast time and they were really friendly and helpful. I loved my stay in Lantic but please note, because this is an ancient building, there are no lifts to bedrooms and no air conditioning in bedrooms. The hotel does tell you this on their webpage. Loved my stay so much I will be back again

A fuire.

I plan to gk back again!
What a beautiful Chateau! The owner tells me that they spent 5 years restoring it. It is wonderful.
Be aware they only offer dinner on Saturday nights - I checked before. The good news is they do cheese and charcuterie boards. This suited me down to the ground. A glass of red wine and I was very happy.
Charming owners too. Great if you use as a stopover en route as only 15 mins from Bordeaux and 5 mins from the motorway. Sweet little village too.
