The Oak Bluffs Inn

My wife and I had a wonderful extended weekend stay at The Oak Bluffs Inn. Rhonda and Erik Albert were gracious hosts, making our vacation at the inn and Martha’s Vineyard one to remember. Our room on the first floor was quite comfortable, and the morning sun coming through the window promised a pleasant day on the island. Erik started our morning with a nice, hearty breakfast of eggs and toast, homemade lemonade, and freshly squeezed orange juice prepared in his kitchen. Rhonda has landscaped the property with native plants, creating a pleasant environment, especially the backyard garden nook, where we could read and enjoy our morning coffee and tea (Mighty Leaf Tea Organic African Nectar, which I subsequently ordered a box of from Amazon). She is also knowledgeable and eager to share the island attractions that we were keen to visit. A notable feature of the inn is the wrap-around porch on the front and side of the inn. Outfitted with white rocking wicker chairs, it serves as a gathering place to meet other guests and savor Erik’s home-baked chocolate chip cookies. If and when we decide to return to the island, we will book our room at The Oak Bluffs Inn.

This was my second stay at the Inn. I was there briefly a couple of years ago and I remembered the wonderful feeling of visiting relatives and friends during “porch-sitting” time when complete strangers get to know each other by sharing information in conversations that begin with “so where are you from?” There are similar exchanges during breakfast, which is complimentary. The rooms are beautifully furnished and kept in immaculate order. The beds are comfortable and the attention to guests exceeds any that I’ve experienced at other inns or hotels. Oak Bluffs Inn is conveniently located for access to shopping, beach sitting, gatherings at the homes of friends and best of all ferries to the Cape and other islands.

Erik and Rhonda were gracious hosts! Starting with being communicative about how to prepare and pack for the finicky island weather to directions on how to get there, between texts and emails, I felt well-taken care of. While we were there, they provided key recommendations for what to do, where to eat, and what to avoid! From comfy rooms, a fun porch to sit and relax in, to the attention to details including delicious breakfast, late afternoon snacks, and beach towels and chairs at the ready, this was a 10 out of 10! Am planning on returning next year!

My wife and I stay here for our 25th anniversary June 27 to 29th. The place is beautiful, and the room is so comfortable. It has everything we needed. Eric is so nice and he makes you feel at home. He met us at the ferry and walked us to the Inn, while informing us of the good places to eat and tour. He provides breakfast, which is made to order, no Buffett line where you get cold eggs or stuff. His is made to order which is perfect. The room was so nice, we had a balcony and just to sit out with some coffee or your favorite drink is relaxing/ If I could give this place 10 stars I would and that still would not be enough. If you are planning to go to Martha Vineyard my advice is to stay at The Oak Bluff Inn, you cannot go wrong. And you are close to everything, food, beach.

My son and I stayed in the guest house and had a wonderful time! We received more than we expected from the innkeepers, Erik and Rhonda, including made-to-order continental breakfasts and housekeeping services. Erik was extremely knowledgeable and made great recommendations about what to do and see on the island. Also, because of his knowledge of Jet Blue’s subsidiary airline we were able to get my delayed son’s luggage which was sent to Nantucket Island, delivered to Oak Bluffs, thus avoiding it being sent back to Boston. I would definitely stay at The Oak Bluffs Inn upon returning. What you see online is genuine- they are the “Real McCoys” and have a passion and love for what they do!

This quaint B&B is the cutest spot in Martha’s Vineyard. Clean, cute, and conveniently located. We could walk everywhere from there, except when we traveled to other villages. Rhonda and Erik are great hosts, and made our stay easy and pleasant. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the wraparound porch.
