I have just spent, together with my mother, my aunt and my daughter, an unforgettable week at the Palais Blanc in Marrakech. The day after arriving we already felt at home, thanks to the charm of the place and the warmth of the staff. It is a typical riad with the rooms arranged around a courtyard of mandarin trees with a pool in which my daughter has splashed wonderfully on the hottest days. It is a very intimate atmosphere because there are few rooms, and there is tranquility. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable (the mattresses are also very comfortable). The rooms we stayed in, located on the ground floor, have a terrace overlooking the pool provided with a table and chairs and a large sofa where we read, rested and had tea. Abdullah, who runs the dining room, has been very patient with us in general and has served us dinner there when we arrived late after visiting the city. The day we arrived at the riad, already at night, he had prepared some exquisite stuffed puff pastries and a tagine for us on the covered terrace upstairs, where all meals are normally served. Breakfast is also very good and very complete, with freshly made pancakes and homemade cakes and a delicious egg and mushroom omelet that we have ordered daily, but also toast, fresh juices, homemade cake, a variety of fruit, salads, delicious olives and sausages . The hotel manager, Ahmed, has taken care of us at all times, and has organized personalized outings to our liking with friendly and professional tour guides, who have accompanied us on several routes around the city, and also on very interesting getaways to the valley of Ourika and the waterfalls in Setti Fatma, as well as the Kik Plateau and the Agafay Desert, spectacular places that I would not like to have missed. When my daughter and I wanted to have dinner but the kitchen was already closed because it was night, Lely, Ahmed's right hand, personally accompanied me to a restaurant to make me feel comfortable. When my aunt was sore after long days in the city, the owner, Lamia, offered her a full body massage which helped her a lot. The night before our departure he surprised us with some typical walnut-based chocolates—delicious! Dunia and Nassera, who clean the establishment daily, always have a good word and a smile. Abdullah of Dakhar is also solicitous and courteous. The Palais Blanc is perfectly located in the center of the Medina, which has allowed us to take walks on foot through the old area and walk to Jemaa el Fnaa to see the sunset on the terrace of the Café de France. On other occasions, Ahmed provided us with transportation by tuc-tuc or taxi. I could go on and give more details, but perhaps it would be better to just say that we want to return to Marrakech and that the Palais Blanc will be the place where my family will stay. Until next time, and a thousand v
