Palais El Miria & Spa

My partner and I had a wonderful time staying at Palais El Miria. The staff (especially Azeez & Hamza) were incredibly warm, attentive and helpful. The hotel itself is a charming, traditional Moroccan hotel and offers a tranquil rest away from the bustling streets of Marrakesh. Our room and the pool were particular highlights - we didn’t use the spa services on offer but were told from other guests that they are first class. I would recommend the bottled water to be free of charge as it’s necessary to buy several bottles due to the lack of drinking water especially in the heat. More fruit would also be a better option as my partner particularly struggled with this when she came down ill through the trip. On the whole though it was a brilliant stay for us and the service provided by these wonderful people have cemented our opinion that we’d love to return one day.

I've just come back from a one week stay at this hotel with my 13 year old son. I will start with the pros, the hotel itself is beautiful, I loved the traditional look of it, the pool is always clean, the gardens are kept beautiful. The staff are so kind, from the manager, to the waiters, to the cleaners and gardens they literally can't do enough to help and my son loved the cats/ kittens and tortoise they had there. Unfortunately that's all I can say that's good. The beds were done everyday but there was dirt on the mirror and windows of my room before I came until when I left, there were flies in the room everyday and when I asked for fly killer they never had any. On the website when booking it states that all rooms came with safe, balcony/terrace/kettle unfortunately none of this was provided to us even tho we were given a free upgraded room. I have stayed in 4*/5* hotels in Greece/Spain/Egypt and Turkey and because it's unsafe to drink their water you are normally provided bottles of water for free, here they charge you £2.50 per bottle, because there is no kettle you cannot make your own tea or coffee so it's another £2.50 everytime for that too. There is a shop within 10mins walking distance but it's not a nice or safe walk along a main road. Also when booking it also states that it's in walking distance of the oued transit river. This is nothing but a dried up hole full of dirt and rubbish now. The food at the restaurant is nice but a bit on the cool side, wide range of breakfast served but you don't get to choose and all menus in French, it's definitely more catered to French tourists than any other country. Also the bar seems to stop serving after 10pm. All in all I would for look and people 5* but for facilities, price, location, food, ect 2.5* at best unfortunately.

Wow what an amazing stay we had at this gorgeous Riad. Loved every single minute of our stay here, the staff will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and happy whilst staying there nothing is too much for them. Any issues that you do have they will be dealt with quickly they will go out of their way to make sure you are happy. Taxis can be ordered and it’s a 30 minute drive into the centre and they will order the taxi for you and take you outside to the taxi to make sure it’s all okay for you which is a great personal touch. Excursions can also be booked through the hotel. It’s always a nice touch that when you come back in the evening after a busy day out that they come out and greet you when the taxi arrives back. Thank you to Ottoman Hamza and Aziz who made our stay absolutely amazing we will definitely be back.

We loved this place!! So quiet and peaceful. The staff are amazing, so helpful and just lovely and kind. They cannot do enough for you. The rooms are spacious, the riad is full of character and very beautiful. Would highly recommend! We cant wait to come back.
