Brentwood Motor Inn

The problems started when we booked through *******; in order to get into your room you are supposed to recieve an email with a passcode for the pin lock on the door - we never received the email and there is not a front desk office. We called the property manager and he said that is usual for third party bookings to not get the email, but he gave us the code which did not work right away so we had to call him back to fix it. When we entered our room we were immediately hit with the smell of stale cigarette smoke. We went and purchased an air freshener that did little to mask the smell. The website garunteed WiFi access but when we attempted to log on we could not gain access. After considering the smell and the lack of WiFi along with the splatter of who knows what on the wall by the garbage can we called the property manager back to inquire about canceling the rest of our reservation and he admitted to having previous knowledge of the WiFi not working and stated he would agree to give us a refund for our unused nights. Camden, the property manager that we spoke to, then went on to deny our refund when we filed for one through *******.

I have stayed here in the past and never had a problem. Rooms are spacious and were clean, then. However, this time was an absolute nightmare!! First there is NO check in/out desk. They state that there is staff on site for any of your needs, yeah right! They send you a code for your door. Well, my keypad did not work. Had to call the support desk. They changed the keycode, DIDN'T WORK. They stated they would send a serviceman in about 10-15 minutes. 1 hour later, nothing! Called again, stated she someone would be there in 20 minutes; another hour goes by. Called a third time, finally someone arrived. Each time you call you get a different person so you have to go through your issue each time. Well 2 1/2 hours wasted. Then, the toilet was absolutely DISGUSTING. Black mold all over the bowl. At first I thought it was scratched, but it wiped off with paper. Then looking in the shower, there was soap remnants on the ledge left from bar soap and soap scum all in the tub. My sister grabbed a towel that was folded up, opened it and it had a hair ball in it. I didn't want to shower there. I did bring my dog with me and immediately he found food scraps on the floor!! In addition, I bring a vacuum when I travel because he sheds a LOT. When I vacuumed, the amount of DIRT I got out of that carpet was unbelievable. My vacuum canister was EMPTY when I brought it. AND, they have the nerve to charge a "Pet fee". NEVER AGAIN!! A lot of potential for this place and it is unfortunate that it went downhill. Toilet photos are do not reflect how bad it actually was because of the water reflection.

I understand you get what you pay for. We booked this room based on very good reviews which were not accurate. Upon climbing the stairs to the second level there were many spiderwebs and property was not kept up, felt dirty. The room was large but with multiple stains on the carpet. The mattresses were very very soft with no firmness. Breakfast was advertised as included free. When I asked the desk clerk what time is breakfast she said it’s no longer included. Clearly they need to update their website. However, Ashley was great and able move us to a room in one of their other properties in town that had recently been remodeld and breakfast was included. Providing great customer service is Ashley’s gift!
