It is about an hour's drive from Yosemite. The surrounding environment is relatively quiet. It is known as the oldest motel in Porimasa and has been in business since 1941.

The location of this motel was perfect, but that's all the positive I can say about this little motel. There is rarely anyone on site, after my check in, I saw no proprietors, if you needed something you were on your own, or you had to call. I was there almost 3 days, 2 nights. My room was tiny, the bed lumpy, but the TV and cable was nice and my room was relatively clean. The bathroom as super small. I am a big woman, but it was ridiculously small. My little room was over $225 per night! Location, Location and Location. Right? If it was on Route 66 somewhere in Arizona it would have been $59 a night. That's what this little motel reminded me of... I usually stay at the Best Western down the block but wanted to save a buck, and with that being said I should have continued to stay there as the rooms and bathrooms are twice the size and breakfast is included at the Best Western. I won't make that mistake again, as I go up to the Park a couple of times a year from the Bay Area.

Location, location, location Only 1 hour away from Yosemite National Park, which is unbeatable, but that’s all. The hot water is unstable, it comes and goes, which makes shower impossible. Text to the stuff, been told that he will check next day, but still same issue. WIFI isn’t stable, actually, it doesn’t work during the evening, which is really annoying. Half of the door was covered by bushes, it is difficult to access to the room, definitely needs some trimming.

We loved the area with the cute shops and even a wine tasting room down the street. The bed was comfortable but the area under the bed was full of dust and cobwebs. There was a loud compressor type noise in the area next to our room. It looks like that space is used for storage so not sure what the noise was from. And the bathroom was very small. The shower had a sloped floor that required you to stand in the very middle of the floor where you couldn’t step away from the spray to wash. Also, my 6 foot boyfriend’s head was about 6 inches above the shower head, so taller people don’t fit in this shower. Last but not least, the front door to the outside parking lot would not shut completely without kicking it shut. We would not recommend staying here.

We’ve been visiting family and friends in Mariposa for decades and consider ourselves right at home here. Since we always stayed in homes, we were delighted when the opportunity arose to stay at the RRI. We spent 8 days at this historic Inn while attending a family wedding. Our stay was most pleasant and the housekeeper attentive and helpful with our requests. Most important, the bed was super comfortable and very clean. Loved the quaint blackboard with our name and room assignment. Location perfect for walking anywhere downtown. Very quiet neighborhood. Other occupants friendly, & quiet. Breakfast every morning at Stix a definite plus. Thank you, Stephanie and Keith
