Magical overnight stay at no. 42 Margate. Have wanted to stay here since reading about it a couple of years ago and it didn’t disappoint. Our room was not one of the more expensive sea views rooms yet it was heavenly. Beautiful neutral decor with plentiful amenities - high end toiletries, water, coffee, teas and of course access to ‘The Pantry’ which was one of the highlights of our stay. I won’t spoil the surprise for future guests but imagine having access to your own ice cream and sweet shop. The rooftop bar is stunning although we were surprised to find that when we returned from our meal out to watch the sunset the bar was closed, maybe too early in the season? We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on the Pearly Cow restaurant but the dinning areas were very quiet. The decor was beautiful. The staff friendly. A unique place to stay.

My wife and I went to No. 42 By Guesthouse recently for long wedding anniversary weekend in Margate. Best two things about the hotel are location and service. Room is quite small and compact. Very little place to sit which was not good. Location is right in heart of the city centre close to beach and various restaurants and shops. And the train station is easy walk. Not cheap but nice place to stay.

Stayed here for one night as a stop over when returning from a European road trip back to Scotland. The location was chosen to allow us to visit family. I wasn’t sure what to expect but what a fantastic hotel/ guest house. It has some quirky features ( record players in the rooms and the ‘snack bar’) but we received a warm welcome and our spacious room had great views over the sea. Can’t recommend this place highly enough……all members of staff were friendly and professional. Just wish we were able to eat in the restaurant…..the seafood menu looked great. If you are heading to Margate don’t overlook this place.

Our stay at No.42 Margate was nothing short of exceptional. From the beautifully styled rooms to the warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel, every detail was thoughtfully curated to create a memorable experience. The food was equally impressive – fresh, well-prepared, and reflective of the same care shown across the rest of the venue. A special mention must go to Lukas on front of house. His service was outstanding – professional, friendly, and genuinely attentive. He went above and beyond to ensure everything ran seamlessly for us, and it’s clear that his presence is a huge asset to the hotel. I would highly recommend No.42 to anyone visiting Margate. The staff truly make the place what it is, and I hope the management recognise how valuable they are. This hotel is a real gem.

No.42 Margate made my friends 60 th birthday unique! The whole staff team made our stay outstanding - and particular thanks go to Aimee, Lucas , Freya, Francesca and the kind cycling man that picked our bags and worked on reception. The welcome , kindness and h believable room preparation was beyond all expectations and I could not recommend this hotel any more highly. If made a special occasion very special ! Thank you

My daughter and I had a brilliant stay at no.42. The staff were really lovely and we were surprised by some of the amenities such as the pantry and roof top bar. Our room was perfect, well equipped and very nicely decorated. We wish we had known about the luggage pick up service from the train station which we’ll definitely use on our next visit. Highly recommend and really looking forward to our next trip.
