The towels and sheets had horrible stains, there was no shampoo or conditioner, and when they asked for it they had to go somewhere else to buy it, only shampoo. The reception at reception was terrible, the organization was terrible, and not to mention the New Year's Eve meal that they offered in the already paid package, or rather, the lack of options and the taste of what they had. The room in the penthouse left a lot to be desired, and as soon as we checked out, where they told us we could stay in the awning, the beach workers told us we had to leave. Lack of staff, terrible organization and there weren't even towels for the beach. The wifi didn't reach anywhere other than the reception. I would never go back, nor do I recommend it.

My daughter (15 years old) and I took a ticket to Margarita Island for 180,000₽ for 11 nights at the Paradise Oasis 4* hotel with breakfast. I was looking for a new place to go kiting in June. I travel quite often. I love Southeast Asia and Europe. Nordwind flight No delays, exactly on schedule. Arrival also on time. We were fed on board once. But we knew about it and prepared provisions. Group transfer 20 minutes away on an air-conditioned bus that has seen a lot in its time. Paradise Oasis 4* El Yakque Hotel with a swimming pool. Small territory that overlooks the beach. The hotel is certainly not 4*, but an average three. But the staff is polite and friendly. An unpleasant surprise upon check-in - the room did not have a door to the toilet and shower. The toilet is opposite the bed and the window. Let me remind you that I am in the room with a teenage girl. Although, to be honest, such a decision will not add romance to a married couple. We asked to change the room - the new room has a door, but it is glass with partial frosting, which also does not provide privacy. As a result, I gave my daughter time for procedures, while I used the public amenities of the hotel. Cleaning and 2 bottles of 0.5 water every day. Towels available. Sockets of an unusual standard for us. The hotel does not provide adapters. We bought 2 pcs in the store for $ 3. Breakfasts are not in the buffet format, but you choose from several dishes on the menu, which did not change for 12 days, plus a small assortment of 2 slices of watermelon, pineapple and papaya. Juice and coffee. There is no opportunity to overeat. The taste is bearable, but nothing more. Each of these dishes made me sick by the end of the holiday. The undoubted advantage of the hotel is that you go directly to a beautiful beach with palm trees, from which you can launch. True, there is no white sand and azure sea. Everything is quite ordinary. The water is quite muddy and with green algae, which are also lying on the beach. The hotel is absolutely empty and quiet. Considering that there is nothing to do in the evening, a good solution is to watch a movie, or just scroll through social media feeds - but no such luck! Wi-Fi only at the reception. Our room is 5 meters from the reception, but the network constantly flew off, hung and the video did not play even in 144 resolution. We read books and went to bed at 9 pm. Local entertainment and food There is NOTHING INTERESTING around AT ALL. There are 5 stall-style stores with alcohol and basic essentials and 3 cafes. It is generally unclear what to do here in the evening if you do not drink rum every day. There is nowhere to walk. One street is 500 meters long, and everything around looks abandoned and desolate. Devastation and poverty. Not like in Asia - calm. But some kind of sad and desperate. The cafes are simple, but the cost of the simplest dinner for two is around $ 40. The portions are really huge. But what good are they. Neither I, nor especially my daughter ate even half. Then we began to take one dish for two, so as not to throw away food. During our stay, we spent $ 600 on food, despite the fact that we saved a lot. We did not order alcohol. Mobile communication with Russian

Positives (Good): * Margarita Island is beautiful island in the Caribbean. * The hotel is probably the best in El Yaque, a world class paradise for Kitesurfers * The staff were all friendly and tried to be helpful. * The beach is wonderful and we were there in off season so it was empty * We found the food good but not excellent * The room we had was clean and comfortable Negatives (Bad): * Gave reception my voucher at check-in clearly stating Suite Oasis Paradise. I had been told it was the only one with as King Bed and I had to pay in advance to guarantee it which I did. I commented later this room only had a queen bed but was advised this was my room. I accepted that as bad advertising but with no recourse. In the morning I complained that the room blackout curtains leave a 2 inch gap between curtains and that let the beam from a property security spotlight come straight into the room at bed pillow level. Making sleep impossible. I built a wall or suitcase cases etc. to blink the beam. I was advised the spot could not be removed and that I could not change rooms. * (Ugly) When checking out 4 days later, one day early as the Venezuelan Government had requested my presence in Caracas regarding my visa, my wife walked to the end of the hall and found the suite labeled Suite Oasis Paradise which the maid was making up from another guest with a King Bed, larger room and the spot was not visible behind trees. Our Suite 01 we found is called Vista El Mar with a Queen bed and smaller room. When I complained I was first told nothing could be done. After a discussion in which the manager insulted my wife they paid us back the difference in the room cost but would not allow for the early checkout. That they said we could get as a free night on out next visit, unlikely coming from Canada. Comment: Good hotel but bad public relations by the manager.
