Location of this park is its best feature . On arrival we had no power pole , it was under construction with office closed we called AH number and they had to run our power to another spot . All the sites were very small and difficult to get vans in . Power failed the next morning so maintenance was called again . Amenities need updating badly , and that’s an understatement. They were also dirty . Camp kitchen tiny and toaster kept tripping electricity ! One of the 2 stoves was broken also . All this for $67 per night !! Dearest Park we stayed at during our 4 weeks holiday . Give it a BIG miss .

Worst caravan park Ive stayed at from the uneven ground camp site with no grass, only 3 toilets and 3 showers to facilitate the whole campground and I had to check out 2days early due to terrible wind conditions and power outages and not even a partial refund was considered for the remaining nights that we we're forced to leave definitely not stay or recommend this place to anyone!

This is the second time we’ve stayed at this caravan park and it was just as good the second time. Great place to stay to explore the Great Ocean Road - great shops, cafes and restaurants. Clean park with good camp kitchen where we could all gather.

From this Ken, some sweet reflections 23/8/23: It's not Surfers Paradise (& thanks for that) but here at the front wide window of the best cabin at Marengo, on a sharp-breezed but sunny August morning, there's something black (& maybe deadly)slowly creeping against the rough white waves betwixt a scruffy beach & those ragged rocks covered in indolent seals. Often the rude question rises: What do those seals do for a living? The trevally rarely leap up to be devoured! But I did see a real fisherman take two with a double-hooked light line (I wonder what they taste like?) Mostly I wonder, rather than wander, in this last blast of winter, although we are blessed by 3 days of fine sunshine, when shaded from the shade & dressed according to the time of day. That endlessly engaging distraction of light, movement, & always the underlying symphony of surf moves me away from urban life & that endless list of what "must" be done ASAP. On this one of many journeys to Marengo Family Caravan Park, perhaps 3 hours from Brunswick if you can't help pausing at the wonderful opp shop in Anglesea, best achieved along the Great Ocean Road, by a seriously skilled driver, whose passengers are always gazing left, just in case a wonderful whale is glimpsed, we feel that slight anxiety about unlikely flat tires. The mood completely converts to joyful anticipation as we pass through the "big smoke" of Apollo Bay - urban concerns fade & the gently rural context of ocean & forest completely converts hard times to a soft escape. On other visits to this few days of new life we have generally travelled to someplace or other & clear advice is always available from the office. This time we chose wisely to firmly alter our existence & simply soaked into an always interesting landscape. Oh, & the black & beautiful curiosity turns out to have two long "fins" which are the paddling arms of a single surfer, in full wet suit, confidently moving out to where that magic ride can be sought. He went out of sight, around the point, to larger forces, but was seen later returning to his car, board in hand, & slightly surprised by my gestures of congratulation. The journey to Marengo is endless delights, but the happy holiday, renews energy, subdues concern, & provides a better path ahead.

Great location, right on the beach, well maintained, clean and tidy. Staff are friendly. Good facilities and access. Great Ocean Walk is right at the door step with million dollar views, including seals. A short drive to Apollo Bay and all the tourist attractions in the area.

Stayed here on a caravan site, nice quiet location close to the water and not far from town, the amenities are very small and need to be enlarged, the sites were ok but most didn’t have much grass on them and with all the rain weren’t holding up very well, for the price they charge I think they could offer more

We have been here several times over the past four years. The service is great. One of the finest right-on-the ocean camping, caravan and cabin locations in Australia. We love the cabins but they are in serious need of replacement - they have a 1980s look to them. The retro look is OK, they're just a bit tired and unloved - with rust and paint damage. The management authority also needs to upgrade the approach road - it's pot-holed and doesn't make a great first impression to what is a superb site, 20 metres above the ocean. We still love the place - just needs some money spent on it.

If you want to queue for a dirty loo and shower at a park with a great view this is the one for you. Would not recommend it. Only three toilets and showers for women for about 60 campsites, for men only two. Doubt if this park meets Victorian government regulations. Toilets and showers were small. Campsites small and crowded.

I spent a week in a cabin here with my small dog. The park is very neat and tidy and easy to get around. Located right on the beach which my dog though was amazing. The cabin is basic but it has everything that you need - a comfy bed, it was warm (a must in the middle of winter) and basic cooking facilities. Check in is easy - communication is accurate and timely. Thank you for an amazing week. Kim

Try to get a cabin with a seaview, our balcony was looking out over the sea, a wonderful spot. The receptionist lady was very friendly and the maintenance staff friendly too. Cabins were well equipped and comfortable beds. Only problem was a lot of ants in kitchen, but they did spray outside. Needs a little shop nearby so you could buy essentials, will stay again.

The cabins face the sea and were spotlessly clean, affordable and the 2brm was great for 2 travelers who like separate sleeping arrangements. Only 2 kms out of Apollo Bay and a great starter for the trip to the 12 apostles
