Superb location in the country. The Shepherds hut was warm and cosy and came with tea coffee hot chocolate and a small bottle of fresh milk in the fridge. Microwave was great for warming up my late super Highly recommended

Lovely campsite, huge pitch and the offer of using a firepit free of charge. We brought our own with us so not needed but great to have! Nice flat pitches, we were using our roof tent on the van and was easy to pich up nice and level. The river was accessible through a gate at the end of the field and was lovely for paddle boarding and a swim. We stayed 2 nights and it was really lovely. Showers and toilets do get busy at peak times as other reviews mention, however they were kept immaculately clean and it was lovely to have showers/toilet in a building rather than a porta cabin! Andy welcomed us on arrival and was really friendly and helpful, there was hot food available as well as boat hire etc. Overall a lovely site and a great price!

Brilliant camp site near the river so we could Paddle board with ease! Andy very knowledgable and accommodating to our queries. Pizzas and breakfast v good too. Only downside we found was just x2 loos/showers other than that we’ll be back!

A range of accommodation to suit everyone. The camping area is immaculate. The Shepards huts are wonderful and cosy. Andy and the staff are brilliant and couldn’t do enough to help everyone ! The activities on the river are also amazing. Thanks See you in again soon

First time for us with our camper van to this site and was made to instantly feel very welcome by the hosts. We booked a grassed electric plot and it was huge, more than enough room for a very large awning siding with the van, also for a firepit (kindly provided free of charge) to be easily a safe distance away from van and awning. Electric is metered so only pay for what you use,3 nights and we literally used £2-3 what a bargain compared to unmetered pricing. Clean facilities, only slight niggle is there are only 2 toilets and 2 showers so best to avoid peek times but otherwise they served the propose well. We chose a day where the river was quite still and hired a canoe. There’s at least 2 pubs that have moorings so a cold drink can be enjoyed in your life jacket! We definitely plan to return in the near future and would recommend. Many thanks 😁

We arrived at the start of a heat wave, so make sure you book the one in the shaded area if you are visiting in hot sunshine - its more than adeuqate to sit out in and relax even with your four legged friend. (aiming mon to fri) The shepherds huts are larger than others we have stayed in, has a really nice toilet/shower room (tip: keep the door and window closed all day and its like a cold room). Theres ample storage under the bed for cases, and a few side cupboards for essentials. The portable electric hob is more than adequate to get by on, as is the other electricals provided.. I would say the one thing that was missing was a fan (maybe a ceiling fan would be good?) however we took our own. The campsite is a fantastic campsite, theres numerous tent/caravan pitches, access to the river at the back, and i believe they do hire/sessions on kayaks and paddleboards. The local town isnt far away, plenty of shops/takeaways etc... We actually left a day early, solely because of our poor Frenchie strungling in nearly 30C heat, owners were understanding. I would hope to go back sometime with my inflatable kayak and use the campsite as a base of launch, cant really think of a negative thing...
