The hotel is a grand historic place but requires some maintenance and renovation of the rooms and bathrooms. For 1500/night although meals are included, there really should be far better service. I guess they are understaffed but most people working there do not go out of their way to help/assist. The resort is not that user-friendly, and why on earth is there not an outdoor pool with so much space. I think if they are going to charge that much, they really have to cater to their clientele much more

Me and my now fiancee visited Mohonk a few days ago and we loved it! The waiter captain Christopher went above and beyond to make our engagement week amazing making sure my fiancee, who has celiacs disease, had an enjoyable and stress free dining experience. Truly made our stay a 10/10 experience.

Mohonk is a unique and amazing place. Beautiful natural setting. Stunning architecture. Great food, activities, staff, hikes, views, lake, pool, entertainment, etc. -- all run by one family since 1860s. A national treasure. Also preserved, expanded, updated in best way. Yes expensive but worth it. We have been regularly since 1990.

This is really an outstanding resort. It's a beautiful property inside and outside, very well-maintained. Great variety of activities available, or you can just relax and enjoy the beautiful views. Staff are excellent-- friendly, helpful, and attentive at all times. Very good food with multiple different options. Will absolutely stay again.

Most magical place I have visited ever! Made us forget the daily grind. Grounds are gorgeous with fireflies, birds, old trees, deer and flowers. The lake is pristine and services offered were impeccable.

Wonderful experience! If you have food allergies or celiac disease, they go above and beyond for safe meals. The hiking, activities, entertainment etc, are all great. We loved our stay.

Spent 3 days (Sunday-Wednesday) celebrating our anniversary at the Mountain house. Charmed by the room and balcony, though we could hear our next door neighbors clearly. Thoughtful wine bottle waiting for us in the room! The location is breathtaking and the hiking trails are numerous. Enjoyed the lake activities daily. The porches were a lovely way to rest and enjoy the scenery. Tea/coffee and cookies at 4 every day were an enjoyable break. Meals are plentiful and we ate in four different locations. We explored endlessly and made the most of our time. Every evening the live music performances entertained us with varied genres. Expensive yes, but a thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Very disappointed for the price, relaxing lakeside resort that is not a luxury resort but charges as if it is…..for a resort of this caliber the bar is sadly non existent…… spa service is excellent but not included in the cost. Meals are serve yourself except for dinner and the espresso after dinner is extra … Talk about tacky!!! Will not be going back to this resort any time soon …… it is clearly living on borrowed time.

For $3000 for tonight’s day to celebrate our anniversary we requested a quiet room on a high floor months before arrival and we’re given a room above the activity center on the second floor with no view and constant noise. Was a nightmare and we were unable to enjoy even a moment from our room. The general manager said he was unable to move us and that the noise should stop at 7 PM. We didn’t pay this much money to wait until 7 PM to have a little bit of serenity from our very expensive room. When I asked to be comped for one night, he said he could give us 10% off a single night. I found this unacceptable as the nightly rate was $1500 and we were basically put in the staff quarters above the pathway to the lake and the restaurant and hiking trails so we heard everybody from the outside. On the inside, we were 10 feet away from the entrance of the spa so we heard every single guest coming and going from their meditation and yoga classes and all their spa treatments and the fitness center. So we had noise from all sides, including noise above on the third floor. I would never return unless they made good faith gesture to comp us a night, and put us in a room where we could actually enjoy the serenity that we know this place offers other guests who were placed in quieter rooms on higher floors with nice views. Asking around, we had the worst room in the entire place, but we paid the same as those who had actual comfortable rooms where they could enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the serenity that we so much wanted for our 3 year anniversary.
