There’s a lot of good about this hotel. We got a good deal on a 4 night long weekend with half board a few months back for this week.. About half of what is currently being quoted on the website for next week. What they do right, they do really right in this hotel, and we would recommend coming, but would not recommend the half board. Arrival and check in was excellent. We checked in online before hand so they had all our information when we arrived. The check in agent was very friendly and he was all smiles. We arrived at one AM so missed the half board dinner, but the hotel had put on a huge spread in our room with charcuterie, cheeses, breads, fruits, muffins etc. in lieu of the dinner without us asking. It was above and beyond and very much appreciated. We stayed in an ooh la la room which is an ocean front side sea view. It was nice. Ticked all the boxes, huge balcony and was immaculately clean, as was the whole hotel. Big shout out to the cleaning staff as they did a brilliant job all round. I also liked the operations director left his contact details in the room on a business card which shows his belief in the product and willingness to engage, which we didn’t need to. Food: So the food was a mixed bag. The breakfast was very good for a 4 star hotel. There was massive variety in the buffet, an egg cooking station for cook to order and all the hot food was hot, fruit was fresh, great selection. The lunch menu in the beach club was good. We had tapas each day we were on property which were enjoyable. The dinner was a bit of a let down and we only ate once there despite it being included. It is quite a basic limited menu and my partner got served completely raw chicken which put us off eating that night and having dinner there again. Pools/Atmosphere/Beach Club: This was the other reason Amàre beach club lost a mark. We were expecting a relatively lovely pool area as advertised. This was a bit of a disappointment.. down at the beach club, there was very low music playing for most of the day, DJ was very low key and the various instruments did a few songs each day in the afternoon for a few minutes. It was just quite dead. On a positive note, sun loungers were the most comfortable we’ve ever had in a resort, there was a button to call waiters (they were slow, but they came), cocktails were delicious and staff were helpful. No issues with towels, as they are very quick to clear towels left too long. Overall, I would return and would recommend for a stay, but the half board would become repetitive long term.
