Pousada Alto do Cruzeiro

Just to Sleep! Dirty hallways, hanging wires, the bathroom door only closes when it's hit, bad bedding, the chaise at the bar was so dirty that I didn't have the courage to sit down, there isn't a sachet of salt on the restaurant table, tiles tied with wires, pillows made of poor quality, the place has no accessibility at all (don't you dare take elderly people). Inside the inn there is a tourist attraction (Cruzeiro viewpoint) so the circulation of people inside is very large. The inn is in a high place, it is not possible to reach it on foot. Breakfast is simple, but good! The view from the place is very beautiful, but it is preferable to stay somewhere else and pay $3.00 to go there and take photos. The owner needs to be a little more careful, as the place could be improved a lot.

Pros We rented a room with a balcony, overlooking the sea. Gorgeous. The room is huge and had a large whirlpool, for two people to lie down. The pool is good and well located, next to the best viewpoint in the city. Very quiet air conditioning but I'm not sure it can handle it if the outside temperature is very high. Cons Breakfast only at 7:30 am. But this seems to be a pattern in the city, which is strange since, depending on the tide, tours can leave early. The inn does not have room service. You can't get a glass of hot water for tea or coffee after 3pm. However, there is coffee at reception. The pool bar has processed snacks. Nothing made to order is served. There are also no drinks and it closes early in the afternoon. We had problems with cable TV. Light switches away from the bed. The bedroom door was misaligned and had to be pushed hard to open or close. Sometimes it would knock, making a loud noise and disturbing anyone who was still sleeping. Very simple breakfast, but enough variety. However, the bread smelled and tasted stale. The wall of the breakfast room was very dirty with coffee, demonstrating carelessness in cleaning. In short, despite the beautiful place, it lacks facilities and services for guests. It becomes even more important considering that the city center is not easily accessible for those without a car (you have to go down a steep hill).

The photos on the Internet are totally deceiving! The rooms are precarious. The place is horrible, on top of the hill. There is a gazebo inside the inn where people pass by the rooms all the time. Zero security. We arrived and didn't stay.. we lost 3 days' stay, they didn't refund any of the amount.

Despite the difficult location for those without a car. It's very worth it. Very comfortable, incredible breakfast. The view is breathtaking. We went without a car and I used the Fênix app without any difficulty. I only go back to Maragogi if I want to stay there again.

The photos that appear on the Booking and Tripadvisor websites do not match reality. The location is difficult to access (you can only get there by car), the conditions of the rooms and bathrooms are very precarious, during breakfast I didn't see gloves to handle the alignments or alcohol gel, in the middle of the pandemic. Rooms that do not have a "sea view" do not have windows. I had to make the decision to go to another location and was still charged for the 3 nights. I had no support from either the Pousada or Booking. A game of push and shove on both sides. Shameful!

The hotel itself has a good structure, but leaves a lot to be desired in terms of security and quality of the rooms. The Hotel is on a hill, which is why it is called Alto do Cruzeiro, from the top you have a beautiful view, like a viewpoint, which is open to the public, and a visitation fee of R$ 3.00 is charged. Therefore, strange people come in all the time, leaving guests without any security, considering that the inn is not monitored by hotel staff, there is no receptionist, there is only one doorman who does all the work, checks in, opens the gate, carries bags . In the end I didn't find a Safe Inn, I stayed in room 10 where there is only one door, no window, ceiling with cracked plaster lining, dirty walls, bathroom with no window, no place to hang clothes, when we arrived late in the afternoon the room was an oven. Good breakfast with some options, polite and helpful staff. Restaurant doesn't work, guesthouse doesn't have any type of commerce around. City center far from the inn, you need a car or cars via apps, Fenix ​​or Vip Select. Pousada has a beautiful view, clean and organized.

Inn located in the Center, but in the Center Alto de Maragoggi, a place that is difficult to access, as you need a vehicle to leave or return, there is only breakfast, lunch and dinner, you have to go out to the center of the seafront, I DO NOT RECOMMEND for people with limited mobility, there is no security and the rooms are quite stuffy, thankfully it has air conditioning, as it helped a lot. Anyway, the doormen are very kind and the coffee girls.... Thank you to you and I hope the owner improves the rooms, much to be desired.
