One of my best experiencs in a safari resort.. Ilora added charm to our Masai Mara visit. Everything was very well thought of and individual attention ot the guests was just amazing! The rooms are one of the biggest I have seen - we had two double beds for 2 adults and 2 kids and there was still ample space to open suitcases and move around! The food is great with the chef eager to cater to our particualr culinary requirements such as veg food. Activities such as bush walk, bush dinner, sky gazing added to the charm. Kids loved the bead making and spear throwing sessions! And special points ofr the great spa - the massage really alleviated all the rigour of being in a jeep safari throughout the day! All in all - cant recommend more! Will keep coming back to Ilora

I really enjoyed my stay at Ilora Retreat in the Masai Mara. The service was excellent, and I was especially happy with how well I was treated by the manager, Mr. Harrison. He was very kind and attentive, and his staff were all friendly and welcoming. It made my experience at the camp memorable and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Ilora Retreat Camp for three nights as a driver guide, while guiding clients in the Masai Mara, and I have to say this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had as a driver-guide. The way we are treated is completely unacceptable. Clients are treated like royalty – which is fine, they deserve comfort – but guides are treated as if we don’t matter at all. One night I asked for extra blankets because it was very cold, and the response I got was rude and dismissive. It felt humiliating. The food provided to driver-guides is also very poor. After a full day of driving and making sure clients enjoy their trip, the least we expect is a decent meal, but the quality was far below acceptable standards. To guests booking at Ilora Retreat Camp: please ask your guides how they are being treated. Many of us are quietly suffering, and this isn’t right. If management doesn’t change how they treat guides and improve the food and basic hospitality for us, I will encourage every driver-guide I know to leave honest negative reviews. We deserve dignity too.

This was our very first visit to the Masai Mara, and Ilora turned out to be the perfect place to begin this incredible journey. From the moment we arrived, the team gave us the warmest welcome, setting the tone for an unforgettable safari experience. We were a group of 6 couples and 5 curious, super-excited kids — and every single one of us was completely enchanted. The rangers were exceptional — knowledgeable, patient, and wonderful with the kids. They not only ensured we had amazing wildlife sightings but also taught us how to truly appreciate the magic of the Mara. The food was another highlight! The chef and his team spoiled us with delicious 4–5 course meals, and the bush meals (enjoyed while watching the migration!) were planned with such thoughtfulness and detail. They even went the extra mile to prepare special dishes just for the kids. One evening, the team surprised the little ones with a movie night under the stars — a memory they’ll never forget! The rooms are luxurious, beautifully appointed, and offer every amenity you’d expect from a 5-star property. Ilora made our first Mara experience truly unforgettable. Highly recommended for families and anyone looking for a perfect blend of adventure, comfort, and genuine hospitality!

Did a solo trip to Kenya and chose Ilora Retreats for the Masai Mara, stayed for 3 nights, and it turned out to be the best decision. The place is peaceful, the staff is super warm, and everything just flows smoothly. I had my own space when I wanted it, but also great company around when I felt like chatting. Safaris were well organised, and I always felt safe and taken care of. Would happily return!

Great location and the tents are quite large and spacious. The food is excellent - great quality and taste fresh. We had a few power outages while we were there (most of them lasted no more than 15 minutes). Restaurant service can take a bit of time, but that is a minor thing. There is hot water for showers, but you have to manage it a bit with a family of 4 so you don't run out.

Estuvimos 5 días/ 4 noches. Los primeros tres días estábamos solos en el hotel, luego llegó más gente. PROS. 1. Ubicado dentro de la reserva de Mara, hace que los puntos de interés estén más accesibles. 2. Tiendas son amplias y bien equipadas. 3. La amabilidad y servicio del personal es muy buena. 4. Las tiendas están posicionadas de tal manera que hay bastante privacidad entre una y otra. 5. El servicio de masaje en spa fue excelente. 6. Tiene tina en la habitación. 7. La piscina es excelente para pasar el calor de medio día. CONS 1. Hay que cruzar un río para llegar a ciertas áreas del parque (o darse una vuelta muy larga para rodearlo), eso puede ser un desventaja en caso de Ud la lluvia haga crecer mucho el caudal de agua. 2. Hubo dos días en que no tenían yogurt al desayuno. Se nos explicó que era porque lo hacen en el mismo hotel y que no lo habían podido hacer, se entiende que tengan esta postura ecológica y sustentable, pero uno esperaría que para él ni el de hotel tuvieran un backup en caso de falla. También al segundo día se les acabó el agua ,imet al con gas y no hubo más durante el resto de la estancia. 3. Una de las habitaciones tenía problema con el agua caliente. 4.
