Rooms appear modern and recently constructed. Room cleaning/Maid is apparently new and learning the job. She needs more instruction. Check-in was difficult and protracted. Gate clerk asked for payment, when pre-payment had in fact been completed through *******. After 10 or 15 minutes of discussion, gate clerk relented and showed us to our room. Stairs only; no elevator. All room doors are exterior, with no covered walkway. This was fine in the dry season. Restaurant and bar at top of park is very lightly attended. Long walk up and up to the top. You have the entire place to yourself. Bartender is very attentive and friendly. We did not try any of the menu/food offerings. Breakfast was quite good. First course of fruit, coffee, tea, juice. Second course of eggs, toast, and potatoes. Staff was very friendly. One or two iguanas wander into breakfast each morning and sun themselves on the deck. Free access to hanging bridges in park was …. interesting. The bridges sway and creak. You feel like you need to hold onto the hand ropes and not let go. But, you get to walk through the tree canopy in the park, look at the flora there, and hope to catch a glimpse of local fauna. Monkeys and parrots come around the park in the morning. Usually they are not aggressive. It turns out the park staff give them food, and they turn up each morning. The guest guide book explains multiple reasons not to feed the wildlife inside and outside the park. Mountain Top Park staff are apparently exempt from this policy.
