I had the pleasure of visiting Mangalore on the 17th of October 2023, where I was greeted with a warm welcome despite my late arrival at night after a 12-hours long journey. One of the first things that captured my attention was a stunning wall-to-wall mural behind the front office desk. This remarkable artwork vividly depicted the cultural heritage of Karnataka, featuring Kola performances, Kambala races, and other local traditions that have gained recent pan-India popularity thanks to the movie ”Kantara.” It served as a captivating introduction to the exciting experiences that awaited me during my stay. Let's talk about the accommodation. The rooms were tastefully appointed and impeccably clean. I particularly appreciated the Skylight Suites, which, while lacking a balcony, featured a beautifully decorated and spacious sitting area with a skylight adjacent to the main room. This clever design made the room feel more expansive. However, it's worth mentioning that the washrooms could benefit from better ventilation. In terms of dining, the food was satisfactory, but I would suggest diversifying the menu to include more vegetarian options to cater to a wider range of preferences. Now, let me highlight the standout feature of my stay – the in-house transportation services provided by the hotel. They operated with exceptional efficiency, boasting well-maintained and spotlessly clean vehicles. The chauffeurs were not only punctual but also displayed the utmost professionalism. I must give a special commendation to Mr. Balraj, who not only ensured our smooth transport to the temples we had planned to visit but also offered valuable insights into darshan durations. His willingness to take us to additional temples during our journeys, such as the Mariamman Temple in Mangalore, Rajarajeshwari Temple in Polali, Bappanadu Parameshwari Temple in Mulki, and Uchchila Maha Lakshmi on the way to Udupi (and possibly more that I can't recall at the moment) was truly exceptional. His knowledge of cultural immersion opportunities, especially during Navratris, was remarkable, and he even introduced us to experiences like the Yakshagana performance at Kadri Manjunatheswar. As my trip had a strong focus on pilgrimage, his insights into these sacred places were invaluable. His careful and considerate approach as a driver was exemplary. Not once did he engage in rash driving, even in the challenging and treacherous forested, mountainous routes that we encountered. Furthermore, Mr. Balraj's helpful nature shone brightly throughout our journey. With my elderly parents accompanying me, his assistance was greatly appreciated. He went above and beyond to ensure their comfort and well-being, offering his support at every turn. Embarking on our South India tour from the UK, ***galore unexpectedly became a stopover, chosen for its proximity to the airport. Opting for the AJ Grand Hotel based on stellar reviews turned out to be a serendipitous decision. Situated in the heart of the city, the hotel provided convenient access to shopping, restaurants, and modern malls, all within a leisurely 30-minute walk. The reception staff's courtesy set a welcoming tone, ensuring a seamless check-in process. Our suite, impeccably clean with enhanced facilities, greeted us with an unexpected perk—an empty refrigerator, a thoughtful touch for personalising our stay with beverages and snacks. The hotel's two highly acclaimed restaurants surpassed expectations, offering a diverse array of delectable choices during main meal times. This meant that we rarely felt the need to explore dining options outside. Kudos to the entire restaurant staff, with a special mention for Ganesh, whose culinary insights enriched our menu selections, and Suresh, whose attentive service at breakfast was welcome. While the gym and swimming pool were compact, they proved functional and, more often than not, were a private sanctuary for our use. The potential future de***d for these facilities notwithstanding, our experience was one of undisturbed enjoyment. The reception staff, although not all adorned with name badges, stood out for their exceptional assistance. Their guidance in locating our boarding passes and travel documents for our onward journey was invaluable. We were particularly grateful for their considerate offer to extend our checkout time, seamlessly aligning with our travel arrangements—small gestures that made a significant difference. Having little prior knowledge of ***galore, we were pleasantly surprised by the city and its welcoming residents. Exploring the beach and other recommended sites, discovered through various YouTube videos, unveiled ***galore's potential as a future tourist attraction, perhaps even rivalling Goa in the future. However, we hope that the city ***ages to preserve its charm without succumbing to the challenges often associated with increased tourism. The location and in-room dining service of Goldfinch is very good. However, I didn't feel I got value for the money I paid. There was no Free WiFi and the cost of paid WiFi was quite ridiculous. Amenities like drinking water and even toilet paper were not restocked and had to be asked for. I wouldn't stay here again, especially since I can get these basic amenities without asking at cheaper hotels nearby.

We had an excellent stay for a week at this hotel. The entire team including the manager Mr.Cletus, Vijay, Akshata, Sudeksha, Rajesh & the housekeeping staff were polite, kind , helpful, and prompt in their services throughout the day. The hotel was well maintained and clean. The breakfast was good, with different items served daily. The hotel is centrally located with good restaurants and supermarkets close by. Zomato & Swiggy also deliver to the hotel. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay here again as well during our next visit.

We recently stayed in The Ocean Pearl Inn during our last visit to Mangalore. The hotel is located in the heart of city making it convenient to explore the city. Friendly staffs and well maintained facilities making it easy and comfortable specially with the kids around. Much appreciated and will surely plan for our future visits.

Newly renovated, well furnished premium category hotel with reasonable pricing. Nice view from the hotel (highway view). Staffs are very cooperative and gentle. peaceful ambience. recommended for couples too.

Amazing hotel with amazing staff!! Lot of small things add up to the best imaginable hotel stay. Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed staying here friendly staff, clean rooms. The staff were helpful from the time I check in and check out. I would like to thank the staff Mr. Uday shetty whose hospitality was at its best! I would recommend everyone to visit!!
