Puma Punku Eco Lodge

-16.05162°, -69.14194° Puma Punku Ecolodge is located on the southern tip of the Isla del Sol on Lake Titicaca. To reach the lodge, you have to take a considerable walk with stairs from the Templo del Sol in Yumani, which can be tricky for people with mobility problems or carrying suitcases. To Puerto Sur, the main town on the island, is 30-minute walk uphill and downhill. The lodge offers breathtaking views of Lake Titicaca, highlighting the serene and picturesque surroundings. The lodge is run by the very attentive and helpful Mendoza family, who live next door. In April 2025, our room 105 has two double beds and a single bed. The bed slept comfortably. In the bathroom, the toilet did not flush and the shower was cold. The lodge has electricity from solar power in the evening. Wi-Fi reception via direct beam from main land was good. Cleaning and maintenance are a really big neglected issue for the Mendoza family. The family needs to improve the quality of the rooms before they fall into complete disrepair. For dinner and breakfast, you belong to a captive crowd. You have nowhere else to go. The family served a good dinner with fish, chicken and meat and breakfast the next morning was good too. Puma Punku Ecolodge offers rooms below the base with great views.

It's a family run hotel no frills just very basic. Entrance to the hotel from the dock is steep and difficult. If you have a mobility issue this is not for you. Although the family are very willing to help. Breakfast was a set menu but very nice. Free WiFi is available but only in certain areas. Electric is available in the room between 6pm and 11pm and supplied by a generator. Great hotel if you like peace and quiet.
