We paid almost 140 pounds per night for a 3 single-bed room with a shared bathroom. Despite there being 3 of us, they told us there was only one key that we'd have to share. This is not acceptable for a room that is advertising itself as bookable for up to 3 adults, as there should be one key per adult just like in any other hotel. To their credit, they told us that during the opening hours we could go to the bar and ask to be let in with the master key, or that if it's an emergency we could call the owner after hours and she could come and let us in, but this is not a sufficient solution in my opinion. If they really can only give out one key, this needs to be clearly advertised in the listing. P.S. The reviews of the hotel on Google are clearly getting skewed upwards because these reviews include both ones of the hotel and ones of the pub by itself.

Dreadful standard. The rooms are shabby, the bathroom was dirty and all of the details were missing; no coat hooks, broken wall sockets, horrible paintings on the wall. Just grim. Beneath the TV, the wires simply hung down. We paid £130 for the night and it was nowhere near worth it.

Hotel ist sehr schäbig. Ich hatte einen Raum in dem es nach altem Fett stank, da das Küchenfenster direkt neben dem Zimmerfenster ist. Der Geruch war eckelhaft und da das Hotel ausgebucht war, konnte ich in der 1. Nacht das Zimmer nicht wechseln. Außerdem war die Tür des Badezimmers blockiert, so daß die gesamte Nacht ich durch lautes Türknallen wach wurde. In der 2. Nacht das Zimmer war zwar besser, aber die Heizung funktionierte nicht und es war sehr sehr kalt.

Great classic pub. The bar staff were friendly and helpful with beer and food suggestions. Fish and chips did not disappoint. Plenty of seating options. Nice clientele. Walking distance to a number of shops and other restaurants in the area. I’d definitely return

This pub and the B&B has recently been refurbished. It's considered a budget city centre accommodation. It's much better than budget in my opinion! The pub is lovely and the food is amazing! All homemade! The staff are friendly and the welcoming. Will defo go back.

Lovely friendly pub staff were really helpful and friendly, we ordered the Sunday dinner and the cheese and onion pie , came out hot, and tasted delicious 😋 we will definitely be coming back , the pub is dog friendly so when I come back I will be bringing my fur baby with me definitely 5 stars .

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE! Wouldn't even give 1 star! Absolutely appalling ownership, they should not be running a business! Booked for 1 night with friends to go and see busted at the arena, planned to make a night of it and go out afterwards bit that was all ruined when we go to the pub and it was closed! Signs everywhere saying it was under construction! No contact to let us know beforehand so we could try and arrange something else, just let us turn up and find out like that, absolutely disgusting! Tried ringing with no luck so rang *********** who I booked the room through, they was appalled too as they hadn't been made aware either, did everything to try and find us somewhere else to stay at the cost of the Crown and anchor but there was nowhere available as it was a busy weekend so ended up having to drive home instead. Do not waste your money and have your weekend ruined by these unprofessional, inconsiderate and downright appalling excuses for human beings.

Beware if you book to stay at the Crown and Anchor in Manchester. I booked in June to stay overnight in September. I paid in full through Booking .com. I received an email the day before I was due to stay asking what time we were arriving! I duly replied with a time. Upon arrival I was told I didn’t have a booking. I showed the confirmation email to the man behind the bar and he said to take it up with ***********. *********** had confirmed they had told the pub we were going. We asked to speak to the manager and was told he wasn’t available! No-one was interested and we were fobbed off! Two pensioners stranded in the middle of a busy city. *********** rang them too and could not make any headway as the man behind the bar said they were fully booked and had no rooms left! Ironically according to the guest list no-one else had paid apart from me! BEWARE!!
