The Equinox

Traveled there for a wedding and was really looking forward to getting back there. My last experience here was 7 yrs ago for a company meeting. Beautiful setting in a lovely, quaint little town. Sadly, that’s where it ended as the building, while historic and we respect that, it was seemingly very tired. The staff was very pleasant but challenged due to what was likely not enough staff…check in process, drinks at the Falcon bar, breakfast in the Marsh Tavern…took way too long. Our room was nice but dusty as I placed items from suitcase into drawers, also wish there was a safe and refrigerator. The Golf course and golf staff, they got it, awesome experience there as well as the wedding space across the street, very good! Perhaps I’m being picky but overall not the 4 Diamond place I had experienced a couple times before. Again, location is beautiful, fantastic history just hope the new company invests in people and the facilities.

Visited the Equinox in July. Grounds are beautiful. Enjoyed being in Manchester. The staff was great with special shout outs for TJ at the front desk who went above and beyond for us and Sharon, our server at breakfast, who was great to deal with. The negative, however, is that the hotel requires an upgrade. The AC was spotty in many rooms and workers admitted that it was old and was not easy to keep going. Staff was short, no answer when calling on the phone for assistance and as there was only one person at the front desk, when we went to the desk at night had to wait 20 minutes until the person returned from helping another guest.

The service was excellent especially Sharon. She was so nice, quick, and friendly. She was a great piece to the breakfast experience.

Deeply overpriced. Definitely gives the Grande Dame vibes in the main spaces, but the hotel is dirty, unkempt, and needs a real update. We saw dirt and cobwebs everywhere. In our room there was a random pile of trash and a screw (?!) on a side table. Banisters missing on the stairs. The literal opposite of New England charm - there was a janky electric fake fireplace in our room like an afterthought. Tape to hold in a window air conditioning unit because the main HVAC was insufficient to keep the room cool (it was HOT all night). Next to the hot tub there was a dilapidated wooden structure with paint flaking off for... who knows what purpose? Truly it's as if no one has just walked around looking for dirt, trash, and broken things. Staff is VERY friendly and accommodating, no complaints at all on service. Massage was terrible. None of the embellishments you'd expect at a high end spa (eg, aromatherapy, scented towels, etc), my technician talked the whole time, massage at "deep pressure" was barely a medium, spastic hurried pace and definitely no chance to relax with all the chatter and instructions on how I should be stretching differently. Honestly, all I can say is go somewhere else.

We went to the Falcon Bar last night and had a wonderful dinner. Annabelle was our server and she was so attentive and gracious. Just a great time.

We recently held an offsite leadership retreat at the Equinox Pond Pavilion, and the experience exceeded all expectations. From the Events Director to the catering team, every member of the Equinox staff was attentive, professional, and a pleasure to work with. Not a single detail was overlooked — planning and execution were seamless from start to finish. I highly recommend the Equinox Hotel and Resort for your next event or getaway. Their location, service, and hospitality are truly exceptional.
